The Most Loyal Horror Movie Friends – Part 2

I’m back with part 2 of the most loyal horror movie friends! These are the characters in the horror genre who have proven their commitment and loyalty to their friends no matter what was thrown at them. I hope you enjoy and let me know who you’d add to the list! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Jack – An American Werewolf In London

Jack Goodman (Griffin Dunne) and David Kessler (David Naughton) were backpacking across Europe when they stopped in a little pub filled with superstitious locals. After they were driven out of the pub, they were attacked by a werewolf and Jack was brutally slaughtered. However, when David was infected by the werewolf, Jack was forced to return from the grave. When David saw Jack’s ghost, Jack tried conversing with David as if he never died! Then, he had to give David some tough love and tell him straight that he needed to die in order for Jack’s soul to be free. Of course, David was in disbelief, and it bit him in the a** as he wolfed-out and added more poor souls to the pile. Jack loved David, but he knew how much others were going to suffer as he suffered and he truly was the only one who could convince David to do the right thing.

J.C. – Night Of The Creeps

J.C. (Steve Marshall) was the reason I wanted to start this series. He’s such an underrated character in the horror community. He started out trying to help his friend, Chris (Jason Lively), get the girl of his dreams, going so far as to participate in the fraternity prank that unintentionally created all the chaos in their town and turned its residents into zombies. J.C. also spoke about how he got depressed when Chris was depressed, which may have been blowing smoke, BUT, actions speak louder than words. When J.C. himself became infected, he ended up finding out how to kill the creatures that infected the residents. In a selfless act, as he knew he was dying, he left a message for Chris, warning him and informing him how to kill the creatures. Then, he made his way to a boiler to prevent infecting others. J.C. was a true friend, and he needs his recognition!

Frank – The Monster Squad

We all know the story of Frankenstein’s monster (Tom Noonan)! In this 80s classic, a group of monster-obsessed youths, the monster squad, realized the legends were all true, and the end of the world was only in a few days. When Frankenstein’s monster, A.K.A. Frank was awakened from his slumber, he was ordered by Dracula (Duncan Regehr) to retrieve a diary that’s in the kids’ possession. However, Frank formed an immediate bond with the kids and went against his master’s wishes. He didn’t want what the other monsters wanted, he didn’t want to be feared. He was a good soul, and he betrayed his master to protect the ones who really mattered to him.

Emmett – 10 Cloverfield Lane

Ever since Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was taken by Howard (John Goodman) and trapped in his bunker, she had trouble believing anything he said. She found trust in Emmett (John Gallagher Jr.), another person trapped from the outside world. Eventually the world’s end seemed true and the trio spent their time waiting it out, doing puzzles, and bonding. Then suspicion ensued when Michelle learned Howard killed a woman. She teamed up with Emmett and stole supplies to create a hazmat suit. Eventually, Howard found the supplies and threatened to kill them both. This was where Emmett proved his loyalty. He decided to lie to Howard and tell him he was making a weapon to use against Michelle. It may have cost Emmett his life, but it also derived all suspicion from Michelle and gave her the opportunity to finish the suit unbothered. It was a hell of a sacrifice on Emmett’s part and it will never go unnoticed!

Sadie and McKayla – Tragedy Girls

The best friends who slay together stay together. Since youth, Sadie Cunningham (Brianna Hildebrand) and McKayla Hooper (Alexandra Shipp) have been inseparable and insane. In order to raise their social media numbers, they decided to kidnap a local serial killer in order to get him to teach them his ways. When their plan failed, they opted to instead keep him captive and go on a killing spree themselves. They’re cold, they’re calculating, and they’re fame-hungry. When things got complicated, they believed they could go their separate ways. however, their friendship was too strong and they realized they are all they have. They eventually made amends in the form of their ultimate massacre. Their loyalty may have been questioned at one point, but they proved that nothing could ever get between them!
