Welcome to Day 12!! Today, I wanted to bring you part 2 of the most underrated performances in the horror genre. These performances flew under the radar either because the films themselves weren’t popular or their characters were outshined by other performances. If you like this post, please check out Part 1. I hope you enjoy and let me know which performances you feel should have more love!
Billy Zane as The Collector – Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight

The Collector is a demon hell-bent on obtaining a special key that contains the blood of Christ. He chased the key holder, Brayker to an inn in the middle of nowhere, where he terrorized all of the residents inside. This is Billy Zane at his most charismatic. He was charming, suave, and absolutely hilarious. He brought a personality to the demon that I never expected. He’s a villain you just love to hate and that wouldn’t have happened if Zane didn’t give 100 percent!
Leighton Meester as Rebecca – The Roommate

Rebecca is a college freshman who takes her friendships very seriously. She obsesses over her new roommate Sara and goes after anyone who she believe gets in between them. Leighton Meester’s descent from shy freshman to stalking psychopath was truly amazing to witness. She was able to successfully nail the seemingly innocent smile with absolutely nothing behind her eyes. She played a wonderful maniac and this performance made me a fan of hers!
Julianne Moore as Margaret White – Carrie (2013)

Margaret White is a damaged, troubled soul who took all of her issues out on her poor daughter, Carrie. Margaret was undoubtedly the scariest character in this whole movie. It was so surprising seeing Julianne Moore in that light. Piper Laurie brought an incredible performance in the original film, it was going to be difficult to fill those shoes. I believe Moore went above and beyond bringing us a character who sends chills down our spines. She was undoubtedly the best thing about Carrie!
Seann William Scott as Evan Cole – Bloodline

Evan Cole is a man who values family so much, he takes out just about any soul who takes advantage of his patients. Seann William Scott has been known mostly for playing the same type of character. I wasn’t sure what to expect from him when I watched Bloodline, but I was incredibly impressed! He checked his funny persona at the door and brought a Dexter-like performance that made me so enthralled, I completely forgot about his comedic work! This film makes me hope that Seann William Scott does more horror films because he’s shown he’s more than capable!
