My Favorite Horror Final Guys – Part 5

We’ve now reached Day 19!! Today, I bring you part 5 of my favorite horror movie final guys! These are the final guys who I believe earned the title due to their resilience, bravery, and morals. If you don’t see your favorite final gut on this list, be sure to check out my Final Guys Collection! I hope you enjoy and let me know which is your favorite! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Edgar And Alan Frog – The Lost Boys

I have no idea how the Frog brothers got into the vampire hunting business, but they truly had a knack for it! When the Emerson family moved into Santa Carla, they were almost immediately targeted by a coven of vampires. Luckily, youngest son Sam (Corey Haim) made friends with Edgar (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander) Frog, the 2 brothers who not only did their research on the undead, but offered their assistance to eradicating the head vampire. They were the best because they took their jobs very seriously. They were intelligent, almost fearless, loyal, and they were the ones you called if you ever had a leech problem.

Sean – The Forsaken

Sean (Kerr Smith) was a down-to-earth guy who took a cross-country job to pay for his sister’s wedding present. During his trip, he came across sketchy hitchhiker, Nick (Brendan Fehr) who was a vampire hunter on his way to his next kill. Sean was kept in the dark about everything until they came across the vampire’s latest victim, Megan (Izabella Miko), who was slowly turning into a vampire herself. I was originally going to put both Nick and Sean on this list, but Nick’s actions were more selfishly driven, and Sean was a more noble character. Nick had no problem letting Megan fully turn into a vampire as he was just using her as bait to lure the one who bit her. Meanwhile, after Sean was bitten, he didn’t hesitate to offer to be the bait to help her. Also, when the vampire was killed and Sean and Megan were saved, Nick realized he was tracking down the wrong vampire and continued on his next hunt. Sean dropped everything and spent months tracking Nick down to help him. Not only was he a good person, he was a great friend!

Shaun Riley – Shaun Of The Dead

Shaun Riley (Simon Pegg) was never really an ambitious person. He went through life, day by day, never really progressing in his job or his relationships. When zombies took over his city, it was up Shaun to step up and protect the ones he loved. He went from house to house, collecting his friends and family, and took them to the pub he felt they could truly be safe in. When their group was compromised and surrounded by zombies, Shaun stepped up and lured them away from the pub so everyone could get inside safely. Although nothing went according to plan, Shaun truly did his best and in the end, he got the life he really wanted.

Lucas Desange – Mama

Lucas Desange (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was a struggling artist living the day-to-day life with his rocker girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain). Things for him turned upside down when his brother snapped one day, killed his wife, and took his two daughters to a cabin in the middle of nowhere. For five years, Lucas selflessly spent a lot of time and money to find his nieces. When they were found alive, Lucas fought to have them in his custody… but what he didn’t realize was that the girls survived all that time in the wilderness was thanks to a broken spirit who went by Mama (Javier Botet). Mama killed Lucas’s brother and tried to kill him too, but he was stronger than she realized. He was a fighter for his life and a fighter for his family.

Mike Milch – The Belko Experiment

In a twisted social experiment, Mike Milch (John Gallagher Jr.) and many of his co-workers were forced to play a game of kill-or-be-killed. Things escalated very quickly as teams started forming and there was absolutely no way out. Mike never lost his morals as the game went on. He did the best he could to save everyone and get help. He tried to cut out the explosive device planted in his head, that certainly was difficult. He also risked getting shot at as he tried to hang up a help banner. He was very courageous, caring, and highly underestimated. As he was the last one standing, he was able to get the upper hand against his captors and kill them all. He was truly and deservedly the last one standing in this twisted experiment.
