American Dad!: My Favorite Roger Personas – Part 1

I’m back with a new series! American Dad! is one of my all-time favorite tv shows to binge and never get tired of. Undoubtedly, Roger is one of my favorite characters. I love how his simple disguises turned into actual characters throughout the show. Today, I wanted to share part 1 of Roger’s personas that stuck out the most for me. I hope you enjoy and let me know some of your favorite Roger personas! (POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!)

Brittany M. – Hot Scoomp

While trying to find guidance in her life, Haley (Rachael MacFarlane) becomes completely engulfed in a workout cult. Francine (Wendy Schaal) and Haley have certainly shown how fast they fall for cults but I think Roger’s (Seth MacFarlane) persona, Brittany M. has them both beat. She was immediately hooked on the cult leader and she made her way into the inner circle after killing a fire marshal. Then, in classic Roger fashion, Brittany accidentally shot at the cult leader after being told that she talks too much. She was a ride or die cult follower, but I wouldn’t criticize her.

Jeannie Gold – Shallow Vows

For Stan (Seth MacFarlane) and Francine’s 20th wedding anniversary, Roger’s persona, Jeannie Gold plans the perfect vow renewal ceremony. Jeannie is a no-nonsense persona who is very dedicated to her work, doing whatever it takes to plan the perfect wedding. Even when things kept going wrong every time she planned the vow renewal, she did her best to salvage their relationship and her job.

Horse Renoir – Joint Custody

When a bounty is put on Jeff’s (Jeff Fischer) head, Roger creates his best bounty hunter persona, Horse Renoir to collect the money. Horse is a very charismatic personality with a hilarious background. Horse definitely took inspiration from Dog the Bounty Hunter, but not well. He got tied up, unintentionally got stoned, and got completely side-tracked from his mission. A hell of a guy, but not a very reliable bounty hunter.

Dr. Penguin – Various Episodes

Dr. Penguin is probably the most reliable persona the Smiths ever had. In one episode, he kept the family from falling apart in his own messed up way. In another, he saved Jeff from prison by hypnotizing the jury. His methods aren’t conventional, but he gets the job done almost every time he’s needed. It’s a real shame Roger killed him off.

Roland Chang – Season’s Beatings

After being kicked out of Christianity, Stan tries to get back in by killing the Anti-Christ… who Jeff and Haley recently adopted. After Roger’s usual whining about helping, Stan told him to create a persona who actually loves helping out. Thus, Roland Chang was born! He was very upbeat and positive sidekick who had no problem killing an evil child. Even when Stan accidentally stabbed his hand, he stopped himself from being angry and kept his enthusiasm.
