I Heard It Too
Directed By: Eden
I Heard It Too is based on a two-sentence horror story where a young girl hears her mother call her name, only to find out it wasn’t really her mother. This video stood out to me due to its perfect combination of eerie animation and superb suspense building. It was a very creepy and tragic short film that still haunts me.
Alma
Directed By: Rodrigo Blaas
Alma follows a young girl who comes across a mysterious doll shop, where she discovers a doll that looks exactly like her. For starters, the animation is absolutely beautiful. Plus, with no dialogue, the music was a perfect addition to set the overall mood. It was a very chilling story with a terrifying ending.
Man With Issues
Directed By: Tom Reilly
Man With Issues follows a man inside a mental hospital cell who lets out his deepest darkest thoughts. I absolutely love claymation and the setting was ideally created. What really sold this film for me was the ending. I definitely didn’t see it coming with this story and it earned a place on this list because of it!
Don’t Move
Directed By: Anthony Melton
Don’t Move follows six friends who unleash a demonic force who seeks to kill five of them. This was unforgettable for so many reasons. The acting was wonderful, the suspense was brilliantly executed, and it was overall brutal and very bloody. It was so intriguing from start to finish, and it should be viewed by everyone!
Clickbait
Directed By: Deric Nunez
Clickbait follows a young woman whose curiosity for a clickbait titles brings serious consequences. This was a very simple yet effective horror film. The build-up was very well executed and I love the semi-found footage style of filming at the end. It was very eerie and it sends a chill down my spine every time I watch it.
