My Favorite Moments In ‘Tales From The Crypt’ – Part 2

Today, I’m in a Tales From The Crypt mood, so I wanted to share part 2 of my favorite moments from the show! These are some of the moments that stuck with me the most. I hope you enjoy and let me know what moments in Tales From The Crypt are your favorite! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

When Judy And Donald Clashed – Judy, You’re Not Yourself Today

Judy (Carol Kane) and Donald (Brian Kerwin) were a married couple and were far from identical. While Donald believed everything could be solved with a gun, Judy just wanted peace and tranquility in their household. Of course, their humble lives were turned upside down when a witch arrived and switched bodies with Judy. I’ll be honest, I don’t really care for the witch storyline. I always stop the episode before she arrives at the door. What I really love is the banter between the main couple. They work so well together and they’re just so entertaining. They’re clashing one minute and helplessly in love the next. Plus, Donald breaking into a British accent at random times really put icing on the cake.

When Devlin Kept His Promise – The Thing From The Grave

Stacy (Teri Hatcher) was a gorgeous model who had to bear the abuse given by her agent/boyfriend, Mitch (Miguel Ferrer). When she confided in her photographer friend, Devlin (Kyle Secor), they immediately connected and fell in love. He gifted her a necklace with special powers: if a person made a promise while holding the necklace, they’d be bound to keep it. As he gave it to her, he promised he’d protect her no matter what. Unfortunately, Mitch found out about their affair and killed Devlin, and when Stacy found out, he tried to kill her too. In beautiful and vengeful fashion, Devlin rose from the grave and gave Mitch a taste of his own medicine. Devlin kept his promise and it was so beautiful and tragic. It is one of my favorite love stories in the entire show!

When Geraldine Took Austin’s Place – Let The Punishment Fit The Crime

Geraldine Ferrett (Catherine O’Hara) was a crooked, ambulance-chasing lawyer whose goal in life was getting more money. She fell into a little trouble herself in the town of Stuecksville, where she was arrested due to a moving violation. She soon learned that the town gave out very severe punishments, and she was in real trouble. With her bumbling lawyer, Austin (Peter MacNicol) making things worse at every turn, Geraldine was just barely able to evade getting whipped and the pillory. Finally, Austin made a deal with the judge where she was forced to stay in the town and do his job. Turned out he used to be a lawyer who was worse than Geraldine and he was forced to stay in the town defending everyone who were unfortunate to be there. With this new deal, Austin finally got to die, and Geraldine was the town’s new public defender. It truly was a fitting punishment.

When Bonnie Finally Called Alan Out – The New Arrival

Dr. Alan Getz (David Warner) was a pretentious and bitter radio psychologist and Bonnie (Twiggy) was the poor producer who had to put up with him. After learning his show was on the verge of cancellation, he decided to make ratings skyrocket by making a house call to a woman who supposedly had the ultimate problem child. Things quickly took a turn for the worst as the child killed Getz’ boss, Rona (Joan Severance) and trapped him and Bonnie in the house. As Getz was chewing the child out, Bonnie finally called him out. She pointed out he really knew nothing about how to help people and she finally quit. This was a short-lived victory, of course, because she was decapitated a few seconds later. It was still great seeing her stand up to him before she died!

When Sam And Reno Played Russian Roulette – Cutting Cards

Reno Crevice (Lance Henriksen) and Sam Forney (Kevin Tighe) were hardcore gamblers who absolutely despised each other. They didn’t even like being in the same town together. They decided that with one last bet, whoever lost would leave town and never come back. After their first game ends in a tie, Reno had enough and suggested that they take things up a notch and play Russian Roulette. This was a great and intense scene. With each click, they got into each other’s heads and the tension and toying between them grew. I also love that they had a moment where they united against a guy who thought they were valets, then went right back to hating each other. It was a great moment that ended in a very unexpected and hilarious way.
