Ranking The Segments In The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror: Episode V

Welcome to Day 14 of Spooky Season!! Today, I’m ranking the segments in episode 5 of The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror! This episode holds a special place in my heart because it was my introduction to The Simpsons show. It was the very first episode I ever watched. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite segment from this episode! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

3. Time And Punishment

After attempting to fix the broken toaster, Homer (Dan Castellaneta) accidentally turned it into a time machine and when he went back into the past, he accidentally altered the future. This one is last for me because even though it has its moments, I am just not a fan of time travel stories. I do like seeing all of the different futures that Homer created, but other than that, this segment did nothing for me.

Favorite Moment: When Homer ate the sausages instead of giving them to the dogs chasing him.

2. Nightmare Cafeteria

When the school’s detention became overcrowded, the teachers started to develop a taste for student meat. This was just a crazy segment. I love how quickly it descended into utter chaos. What I really loved is the end where Bart woke up and you think everything was fine, then we get an inside-out Simpson family dance number. It was a great conclusion to the episode!

Favorite Moment: When Marge (Julie Kavner) was so casual about the school staff eating children.

1. The Shinning

In this parody of The Shining, the Simpsons family was hired to take care of Mr. Burns’ (Harry Shearer) lodge. With the cable and beer supply cut off, Homer started to experience a severe case of cabin fever. In my opinion, this was a perfect parody. It included all of the elements that made the horror film iconic and didn’t skimp on the hilarity. It’s undoubtedly my top choice for this article!

Favorite Moment: When Homer couldn’t remember the very thing he wrote all over the walls.
