I had another article in mind today, but I ended up thinking about those “what if” posts that I see on my YouTube Reels from time to time. I started thinking about my own and the Scream franchise came to mind first. These are some of the “what if” scenarios in the Scream franchise that would’ve changed everything. I hope you enjoy and let me know which franchise I should do next! (MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ALL SCREAM FILMS!!!)
What if Maureen welcomed Roman with open arms?

This is the one I think about the most. If Maureen welcomed Roman and gave him the family he always wanted, things would’ve been WAY different. For starters, there may have never been any murders at all! I say “may” because he was still a psycho and could’ve killed people anyway, just unmotivated. So, Maureen would still be alive, there never would’ve been a high school killing spree, and Gale never would’ve written her book. Hell, She and Dewey probably never would’ve gotten together.
What if Gale never called Dewey as he was about to kill Ghostface?

Let’s say Dewey never got distracted by Gale calling and he successfully killed Amber. Would Richie continue his murder spree without his partner? Would he stop killing, leaving everyone to believe that Amber worked alone, or forever question if she had an accomplice? Dewey would definitely still be alive, giving Sidney no reason to return to Woodsboro. Gale most likely wouldn’t have been shot, and maybe their relationship would’ve been mended after this experience.
What if Tatum could actually fit through the pet door?

Tatum was murdered right in the middle of the party, so if she successfully got through the pet door and escaped, she would’ve stopped the party and tell everyone the killer was there, and everyone would’ve left in a panic, leaving no more victims for Billy and Stu. So, their big finale all ruined, they’d have to devise a new ending. They probably would’ve killed Sidney’s father before anyone could find him tied up and tried to frame someone else. Or, nobody at the party would’ve believed her, but she still would’ve gotten Sidney out of there, foiling the killers’ plans anyway. I would’ve really liked to see Tatum and Hallie interact but who knows if Tatum and Sidney would’ve gone to the same college.
What if Nancy didn’t betray Mickey?

If Nancy didn’t shoot Mickey, they most likely would’ve succeeded in killing Sidney. If Roman was angry that he didn’t get to be the one to kill Sidney, he probably would’ve gone after Nancy and Mickey. Or, Roman would’ve been happy that Sidney was gone and would’ve focused his revenge solely on John Milton. Mickey probably would’ve gotten his trial, but would he out Nancy as his accomplice? He probably would’ve dropped that bomb at his trial, just to get the reactions.
What if Stu didn’t agree to help Billy?

Now, trying to get someone to commit a crime with you, especially one as horrible as murder, is a big risk. So, what would happen if Stu not only refused to help Billy kill Maureen, but also told the police what he was planning? Billy might’ve done time, and depending on if Stu knew Roman was the puppet master, Roman might’ve been arrested too. Maureen’s affair with Billy’s father probably would’ve been brought to light, resulting in Neil divorcing her. Cotton Weary might’ve been Sidney’s stepdad. Nancy might’ve tried to kill Sidney and Maureen herself for “destroying her family.” She might’ve even tried to kill Stu too for reporting Billy to the police.
