Whether they made me laugh, hyped me up, or sent a chill down my spine, these moments left their mark in my mind and cemented their place in this series! I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite horror movie moments! (MAJOR SPOILERS!!)

Finding The Perfect Weapon – Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

Angela Baker (Pamela Springsteen) had come a long way since the murders of Camp Arawak. After being released from the mental facility with a clean bill of health, she changed her name and got herself a nifty job as a counselor at Camp Rolling Hills. Things took a turn as Angela started killing off kids she felt were unworthy to be at the camp, and she told everyone else that she simply sent them home. One of the campers, Demi (Kendall Bean) tried calling one of her friends who was “sent home” and she was told that her friend was supposed to still be at camp. When she went to talk to Angela about it, she mentioned that she called the homes of all of the other victims. While Demi had her back to Angela, Angela went around the cabin to find a weapon to kill her with. She contemplated strangling with a coat hanger, stabbing with a pencil, and smashing her head with a radio. The way she was so casual about choosing while Demi had no clue what Angela was about to do is one of the reasons I love this film so much!

It’s A Thankless Job – Repo! The Genetic Opera

Nathan Wallace (Anthony Head) was a respectable doctor, he had a beautiful wife and a child on the way. After tragically losing his wife, Nathan found himself under the thumb of Rotti Largo (Paul Sorvino), head of GeneCo, a company that loaned organs to people who needed them. Nathan was now a Repo Man, someone who killed those who couldn’t keep up with payments and repossessed the organs loaned out to them. As he was cutting out the heart of his latest victim, he started to sing about how he had a thankless job. He danced around, prepared for surgery, and sang over his victim’s screams. The icing on the cake was when he stuck his hand up the victim’s stomach and worked his mouth like a puppet, making the corpse sing with him. When the song ended, Nathan had a look on his face that read, “What on Earth am I doing right now?” And I just lose it every time I see that expression!

You Think It’s Over? Dream On! – 31

Charly (Sheri Moon Zombie) was just a regular carnival worker traveling with her co-workers to their next set-up. Their quiet Halloween night took a turn for the worst as some of the group was taken to a strange place to play a deadly game. The goal was to survive for twelve hours against some psychotic clowns while 3 wealthy sadists bet on their odds of surviving. The group put up a hell of a fight, killing the clowns one by one. Worried, the elites call in the big guns, a clown known only as Doom-Head (Richard Brake). Doom-Head butchered the remaining survivors until only Charly was left. With Charly, Doom-Head got cocky, taking his time by giving her a long monologue. This ended up saving Charly as the timer went off and his time was up. Upset, Doom-Head just stormed out, leaving her half-dead on the floor. Limping along the road, Charly stopped when she realized Doom-Head was right behind her, ready to finish the job anyways. With Dream On playing in the background, Charly prepared for possibly her final fight. I think it was a fantastic way to end the film, with a killer song and an ambiguous conclusion!

Wait… That’s Not My Son – The Grudge (2019)

After losing her husband, Detective Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough) was looking for a fresh start for her and her son, Burke (John Hansen) in a small town in Pennsylvania. On her first day, she and her new partner started investigating a car accident. The last known location the victim of the crash was at was a seemingly normal suburban house. What Muldoon didn’t understand until it was too late was that anyone who stepped inside the house was cursed and brutally killed by a family of vengeful spirits. With Muldoon’s time running out, she had to figure out what caused the curse and how to stop it. After being tormented for days, she decided to burn the house down, thinking it’ll set the spirits free. The next morning, Muldoon was getting Burke ready for school. While she was giving Burke a hug goodbye, she heard the REAL Burke call out from behind her. She realized she wasn’t hugging her son at all, but one of the spirits. I can’t tell you how high my heart jumped into my throat when I saw this moment for the very first time. It was so chilling and I never saw it coming!

Herman And The Shirley Temple – The Munsters

Herman Munster (Jeff Daniel Philips) was far from the sharpest tool in the shed. Resurrected with the brain of a bad comedian, Herman found new life and new fame in the heart of the underground Transylvania scene. Then, he met the love of his life, Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie). After an instantaneous romance, they decided to make it official and get married. At their wedding, Herman was swindled by Lily’s brother, Lester (Tomas Boykin) into selling Lily’s father’s castle. Now without a home, the family decided that California was THE place to be! On their flight, Herman showed how much of a lightweight he was after having a few Shirley Temples. Considering Shirley Temples don’t have any alcohol in them, the way Herman acted like a drunken oaf was just too funny! The real kicker was when the pilots had to carry him off of the plane with an ice pack on his head. This is probably my favorite Herman moment in the entire film!
