My Favorite Post-Michael Scott Moments In ‘The Office’ – Part 1

I just got done re-bingeing The Office and I’ve actually been wanting to write about this for a while. When people say that The Office was no good after Steve Carell left, I feel like that’s a middle finger to the writers of the show and the rest of the cast. Things definitely changed after he left, but there were still a lot of great moments in the last 2 seasons of the show. So, today I am sharing some of my favorite moments in the show after Michael left. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite post-Michael Scott moments! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Jim’s Picture Paranoia – Free Family Portrait Studio

After pulling another humiliating prank on Dwight (Rainn Wilson), Jim (John Krasinski) learned that Dwight was holding a portrait studio at the office for families to get free photos. Jim believed this was a set-up in order for Dwight to prank him in front of his kids so he urged Pam (Jenna Fischer) not to bring them in. Pam did anyway and Jim’s paranoia soared. I can’t tell you how much I LOST it when Jim was looking everywhere but at the camera, making the photographer and Dwight try to focus his attention like a little kid. Dwight had a different motive for the family portraits, Jim’s horrible picture was just an unexpected bonus for him.

When Dwight Tranquilized Stanley – Stairmageddon

While the elevators in the building were shut down for the day and people were forced to use the stairs, Stanley (Leslie David Baker) had a very difficult time getting to the office. When he finally made it up, Dwight expected him to turn right around and head back down for an important sales call. Stanley refused and Dwight decided to take drastic measures. He shot Stanley with a very powerful tranquilizer and basically carried him to the sales call. This is one of my all-time favorite Stanley centered episodes. It was so hilarious and unexpected. The way drugged Stanley still closed the deal was just so great!

The Nard Dog Tattoo – The Incentive

Facing pressure to increase sales by Robert (James Spader), Andy (Ed Helms) offered the sales staff an incentive program that promised that if they reached a certain goal, Andy would get a tattoo of their choice on his butt. Suddenly getting bit by the sales bug, it didn’t take long for the team to reach their goal, to Andy’s horror. Pam drew up a couple of tattoo options and everyone, of course, chose the worst one. When they got to the tattoo place, Pam made a few “last minute changes” to the drawing. When Andy uncovered the tattoo, he discovered that they put something entirely different on him – a cute puppy wearing a Nard sweater. They put a Nard Dog on the Nard Dog! It was such a sweet moment.

Strike, Scream, And Run – Test The Store

After Andy was attacked by a group of young girls, he had Toby (Paul Lieberstein) teach the office self-defense. One of the things he taught them was that it was best to strike, scream, and run. Creed (Creed Bratton) decided to test this by jumping up, smacking Meredith (Kate Flannery) on the back of her head, yelping, and running out of the room. It is undoubtedly one of the best and most random Creed moments. I also love that Meredith got mad at Toby because of it, like Toby was responsible for Creed’s insanity.

When Jim And Pam Found Each Other Again – Paper Airplane

I’ll admit, I really hated when Jim and Pam hit this rough patch. After Jim decided to take a chance at his dream job in Philadelphia, difficulties and tensions rose between him and Pam. It got so bad, it was at a point where they went to couples counseling. When Jim was about to leave for Philadelphia again, he realized that they were actually losing each other. He wrapped his arms around Pam in an effort to salvage what they had. We don’t know if she’ll return the hug yet, but then it cut back to their wedding and what their priest said about love. Then she held him back and when they smiled at each other, it was like they were their old selves again. It was such a beautiful moment that I’ll always love.
