Times Horror Movie Villains Were Actually Helpful – Part 2

I’m back with part 2 of times horror villains were actually helpful! Whether intentionally or unintentionally, these villains in the horror genre ended up not only helping the main protagonists, but possibly society as well. I hope you enjoy and let me know which helpful moment you feel should be in this series! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

When Tully Got Fester Reunited With His Family – The Addams Family

Tully Alford (Dan Hedaya) was the lawyer of the eccentric Addams Family. The family’s patriarch, Gomez (Raul Julia) considered him a dear friend, but all he was after was their mass fortune. When Tully was accosted by a loan shark he owed money to and her large intimidating son, Gordon (Christopher Lloyd), he realized Gordon bared a striking resemblance to Gomez’s long lost brother, Fester. He came up with the plan to have Gordon pretend to be Fester and gain the rights to everything as the older brother. However, the longer he stayed with the family, the more he felt a strong connection with all of them. This was because he was indeed Fester and he didn’t remember his family due to amnesia. Tully was a despicable person, but there was one thing he did right. If he never came up with this whole scheme, Fester never would’ve escaped his abusive “mother” and been reunited with his true family. He tried to screw over the Addams family, and he ended up giving them the one thing they were missing.

When Mickey Killed Mallory’s Dad – Natural Born Killers

Mallory (Juliette Lewis) was born into a despicable family. Her dad (Rodney Dangerfield) physically, mentally, and sexually abused her for her entire youth and her mom (Edie McClurg) just stood around and let it happen. On a regular day in Mallory’s household full of abuse and harassment, young Mickey Knox (Woody Harrelson) rang the doorbell, delivering beef and once he and Mallory set eyes on each other, they fell hard. They stole her dad’s car and he immediately called the cops, landing Mickey in jail. It didn’t take long for Mickey to find a way to escape and get to Mallory before her dad moved them out of town. Mickey barged in with a crowbar and gave that guy exactly what he had coming to him. He beat him and drowned him while Mallory screeched in excitement. Mickey and Mallory were absolutely horrible people who took pleasure in making others suffer. However, any day an incestuous pedophile dies in a brutal fashion is a good day!

When Roman Killed John – Scream 3

John Milton (Lance Henriksen) was a very famous horror producer who took advantage of young girls who just wanted their big breaks in Hollywood. One girl he abused was named Maureen Prescott (Lynn McRee). He traumatized her so badly, she returned home and was never the same. She even gave up and disowned her son, Roman (Scott Foley) because she saw him as a reminder of that terrible time. Roman was heartbroken and wanted revenge on everyone, so he got Maureen killed and when her daughter, Sidney (Neve Campbell) gained infamy because of it, he set his sights on his new target. While filming the third installment of Sidney’s life story, Roman lured her to Hollywood and terrorized her with her own traumatized past. In an effort to frame Sidney for the murders he committed, he tied up his last victim, John, and brutally slit his throat. Now I know the main reason he killed John was to frame Sidney, but that moment brought justice to a lot of John’s previous victims and it prevented John from continuing to abuse his power and abuse more girls.

When Rebecca Got Professor Roberts Fired – The Roommate

Sara Matthews (Minka Kelly) was ready for the college life and her newfound independence. One of the classes she was looking forward to taking the most was a fashion design class run by Professor Roberts (Billy Zane). Roberts, however, was a man who had no problem taking advantage of his position and using it to get with some of his students. When he tried to kiss Sara, she ran off and told her roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester) all about it. What Sara didn’t know was that Rebecca was completely obsessed with her and she went after everyone she considered a threat to their friendship. This was the only particular instance where she did something right. She went to his office late at night and pretended to be a student who wanted to take his class. She got him on tape telling her to kiss him, then she pretended he was attacking her. She then sent the recording to the school anonymously and it didn’t take long for them to fire and replace him. Rebecca was completely out of her mind, but she did rid the school of some bad rubbish.

When Daniel (Temporarily) Saved Grace – Ready Or Not

Grace (Samara Weaving) believed she was finally marrying into the family she always wanted. The Le Domas family was immensely wealthy and intensely mysterious. On every wedding night, the family had a tradition where the new member had to pick a special card and the family would play whatever game the card chose. When it was Grace’s turn, her card showed the words Hide And Seek, the one card no one would want to draw. When Grace thought she was playing a simple game of Hide And Seek, the family grabbed all the weapons they could find and prepared for their hunt and sacrifice. They believed that they had to kill Grace before sunrise or the curse that plagued the family would kill them all. Grace’s new brother-in-law, Daniel (Adam Brody) had his doubts about the whole thing but he went along with everything anyways. When Grace was caught and set up for slaughter, Daniel slipped the family a small dose of poison, small enough to give Grace another chance to escape. It certainly took him long enough to do the right thing, but I’m really glad he went out helping her, never knowing if the curse was real.
