I’m back with part 2 of my favorite horror movie stars who appeared on one of my favorite shows, Seinfeld! I just love watching shows and figuring out what horror films I’ve seen them in. Seinfeld has had many guest stars who were introduced to me through the horror genre. I hope you enjoy and let me know which one is your favorite!
Corbin Bernsen (The Dentist) as Himself – The Trip: Part 1

After Kramer moved to L.A., Jerry was asked to go there to do a bit on The Tonight Show. George went with him to help look for Kramer. As Jerry got ready for The Tonight Show, George ran into Corbin Bernsen and pitched him an episode idea for his hit show, L.A. Law. Admittedly, I’ve only ever seen Corbin Bernsen in this episode and the two Dentist films. He played such an unhinged doctor, I was super impressed with his performance! It’s so great going back to this episode and seeing him just rant about George’s dumb episode idea. He really seemed genuinely ticked off at him!
Glenn Shadix (Beetlejuice) as Harold – The Apartment

After hearing the building’s superintendents, Harold and Manny arguing, Jerry learned that the apartment above his was available. He hastily offered it to Elaine without thinking how living so close would affect their friendship. Honestly, Harold and Manny should’ve appeared in more than 1 episode. I’ve been a fan of Glenn’s ever since I saw him in Beetlejuice and Dunston Checks In. He certainly knew how to steal a scene, his very presence caught everyone’s attention. He was a perfect addition to this show! His bickering with Manny was superb and honestly, they should’ve been regulars.
Catherine Keener (Get Out) as Nina West – The Letter

After going through a messy breakup with his latest girlfriend, Nina, Jerry received a letter she sent full of deep thoughts. Jerry was so moved that he took her back, only to discover that everything from the letter was taken from a movie she watched. Catherine is no stranger to despicable roles. She played a crazy and sadistic mother in An American Crime, and she played a sinister hypnotist in Get Out. She played a perfectly jealous and manipulative character in this episode. I honestly don’t understand why she went to all that trouble to get Jerry back after that fight. Catherine was such a wonderful actress, that I genuinely disliked her character in this episode!
Daniel von Bargen (Thinner) as Mr. Kruger – The Slicer

After his latest job fell through, George went to great lengths to land a job at Kruger Industrial Smoothing, not realizing his soon to be boss, Kruger cared even less about working than he did. The first time I saw Daniel von Bargen was when he played a corrupt cop in Stephen King’s Thinner. I didn’t think such a serious guy would be great at comedic roles, boy was I wrong! His serious-like demeanor is what made his comedy land so well. Plus, when he actually did goofy things in the episodes that followed, he became one of my favorite side characters. I love that he wasn’t just a one-episode character!
Bruce Mahler (Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter) as Rabbi Glickman – The Postponement

After finding out that George got engaged, Elaine felt a rush of jealousy and resentment. When she confided in her neighbor, Rabbi Glickman, he told everyone he ran into about it and even discussed it on his television program for George to see. Let me tell you something: this guy did such a wonderful job playing these polar opposite characters, that it took me a very long time to realize it was the same actor! He played such a handsy scumbag in Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. He wasn’t exactly a saint in this show, but at least he was nothing like Axel! I was really impressed with both performances, I genuinely question why he quit acting.
