I’m back with part 2 of the best horror movie villains of all time! Whether it was due to their stories, their motives, their intelligence, or their methods of execution, these villains left a hell of an impact in the horror genre. Daniel Robitaille/The Candyman – Candyman Franchise

Daniel Robitaille (Tony Todd) was a gifted artist who was commissioned to paint the portrait of the beautiful daughter of a white landowner. They ended up falling in love and after a passionate affair, she became pregnant. When her father found out, he gathered a lynch mob and hunted Daniel down. When they caught up to him, they cut off his right hand and shoved a hook in the bloody stump. Then, they broke open a hive and smeared honey all over his body, attracting all of the bees nearby. He died in complete agony and became an angry and vengeful spirit. Whenever someone looked in a mirror and said Candyman 5 times, Daniel would appear and gut them with his hook. His curse was created due to racial hate and injustice. Now, he took his vengeance out on everyone who dared to speak his name.

Carleton Hendricks/Captain Howdy – Strangeland

Carleton Hendricks (Dee Snider) was a deranged soul who was obsessed with pain and flesh. Using an online handle known as Captain Howdy, Carleton pretended to be a teenager and stalked the chatrooms to lure young kids to his house. It didn’t matter if they were boys or girls, Captain Howdy maliciously tortured and sometimes sexually assaulted them. When he kidnapped the daughter of a seasoned detective, it didn’t take long for him to be caught and arrested. After four years in a mental asylum, Carleton seemed to be completely mentally stable, and he just wanted to have a normal life. However, when he returned home, the town made it clear that some things could never be forgiven or forgotten. A vengeful mob took him from his home, beat him up, and hung him from a tree. That didn’t kill him, though. That act only unleashed the darkness that still dwelled inside of him. Captain Howdy returned with a vengeance against those who tried to do what the police couldn’t.

Sam/Machete Sam – Club Dread

Sam (Erik Stolhanske) was the Fun Police at Coconut Pete’s Coconut Beach Resort, a hedonistic island paradise for swingers. When Sam learned that Coconut Pete (Bill Paxton) was going back on tour and leaving the island to his drug-addict nephew, Dave (Paul Soter), he felt it was completely unfair that his dedication to the job went practically unnoticed. So, he decided he would prove his managerial skills by killing off the staff if they didn’t do their jobs. One by one, he killed the staff members and made the survivors question and accuse each other. He was great at accusing his neighbors and avoiding suspicion. When he was finally found out, he really showed how hard it was for them to kill him. He was a truly a force to be reckoned with.

Henry Porter/The Boogeyman – Boogeyman 2

Henry Porter (Matt Cohen) and his sister, Laura (Danielle Savre) suffered a traumatic experience after they witnessed the brutal murder of their parents. For years, they believed the Boogeyman was not only real, but solely responsible for their parents’ death. In order to work on his fears, Henry entered a program in a mental health facility that dealt with phobias head-on. During one session, the head of the facility, Dr. Mitchell Allen (Tobin Bell) locked him in the closet and forced him to confront this “Boogeyman.” In that moment, Henry and the Boogeyman became one, either literally or merely mentally. Once his sister checked herself in for the same program, Henry took revenge on the staff and his fellow patients, making them die by their worst fears. When he tried to get help, he ended up completely consumed by the very demon he tried to be rid of.

Patriot – Cooties

Patriot (Cooper Roth) was a bratty little kid who attended a small elementary school in Ft. Chicken, Illinois. What should’ve been a normal school day quickly turned into chaos after his classmate ate contaminated chicken nuggets. After the classmate went mad from the virus, she attacked Patriot and bit a chunk of his cheek off. He was taken to the school nurse, but he was already a dead kid walking. It didn’t take long for the rest of the kids to be infected in the playground. As all of the teachers dealt with the mass mob of zombie children, the virus turned Patriot into the smartest zombie. He destroyed all of the teachers’ phones, cut off all contact with the outside world, and he was able to open the doors and let the rest of the undead in the school. He was one of the most intelligent and strategic zombies I’ve ever seen in a horror film!
