My Favorite Moments In ‘Tales From The Crypt’ – Part 3

I’m back with part 3 of my favorite Tales From The Crypt moments! It’s been a while since I’ve watched the show and I’m currently getting back into it. These moments are some of the reasons I love this show so much. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite moments from Tales From The Crypt! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

When We Discovered Who Enoch And Mirna Really Were – Lower Berth

Enoch (Jeff Yagher) was an abused boy who was forced to perform in the circus due to having two faces. Because Enoch’s health greatly declined, his caretaker, Sickles (Stefan Gierasch) was desperate to find a new act to earn money. That’s when he was approached by a strange man with a new attraction: a 4,000 year-old mummy named Mirna. Enoch fell in love the moment he laid eyes on her. When Sickles learned that Mirna was actually stolen and the necklace she wore contained genuine and expensive jewels, he killed his new partner and grabbed the necklace for himself. Enoch didn’t like that he touched her, so he killed Sickles, took Mirna, and ran off. A year later, their bodies were discovered, as was their baby boy, The Crypt Keeper (John Kassir). The reveal that this was the story about how The Crypt Keeper’s parents met was a hell of a twist that makes me emotional every time I see it.

When Cynthia Threw Ted Under The Bus – The Man Who Was Death

Niles Talbot (William Sadler) was an executioner for the state who took great pride in his work. When the state decided to abolish the death penalty, Niles was suddenly out of a job and unsure what to do. That’s when he decided he could take matters in his own hands and execute those who didn’t face justice for their crimes. Two of his targets were a couple, Ted (Gerrit Graham) and Cynthia (Dani Minnick), who killed Ted’s wife so they wouldn’t have to hide their relationship anymore. They were found not guilty by a jury… but not by Niles. While they celebrated their freedom, Niles snuck into their house and rigged their hot tub to electrocute them. As they were pleading with Niles, Cynthia just decided to throw Ted under the bus and say it was all his idea. The fact that she was so quick to try and save herself was such a funny moment to me.

When Anita Was Talking To Mew Mew And Not Jonas – Collection Completed

After working most of his life, Jonas (M. Emmet Walsh) was forced into early retirement, to his dismay. When he went back home to figure out the rest of his life, he learned that while he was working all those years, his wife, Anita (Audra Lindley) has been taking in and feeding any animal that stops by. Her latest drifter was a cute little cat she named Mew Mew. Life with the animals started to be too much for Jonas. When his friend and neighbor, Roy (Martin Garner) stopped by, he told Jonas it was important to see things from Anita’s point and that they need to have a nice long talk about things. We then see Anita expressing her feelings and we believe she and Jonas are having that talk. However, we soon realize that Anita wasn’t patching things up with Jonas, but little Mew Mew. It was such a funny and surprising moment that always stuck with me.

When Horton Discovered Trip’s Dead Body – Television Terror

Wanting to boost the ratings on his show, TV personality, Horton Rivers (Morton Downey Jr.) decided to do a live special exploring a haunted house that doomed anyone who stepped inside. Armed with only one cameraman, Trip (Michael Harris), Horton stepped foot inside to explore the mystery behind the many murders that took place there. Things started off slow and uneventful, but after the second commercial break, stuff really started to hit the fan. Doors slammed, walls bled, and Horton even saw a ghost in a tub. As Horton instructed Trip to keep his camera’s light on him, it disappeared for a second and reappeared. While talking with his audience, Horton noticed some blood on the floor. When he went down to look at it, Trip’s feet dangled over his head. When everyone saw Trip’s body, one of his producers asked who was holding the camera. Honestly, that moment creeped me out for a long time, it was so well done!

When The Policeman Swallowed The Key – Carrion Death

After escaping prison and robbing a bank, sadistic serial killer, Earl Digs (Kyle MacLachlan) planned to live the rest of his life in Mexico. His plans came to a halt when a motorcycle cop (George DelHoyo) spotted his getaway vehicle and started pursuing him. After a lengthy chase, both men lost their vehicles and the on-foot chase through the desert began. Getting hotter and weaker by the second, the men had their final showdown in an abandoned store. The cop was able to cuff himself to Digs, but after a big scuffle, Digs shot the cop. Knowing that he was about to die, the cop decided to make things much worse for Digs. He swallowed the key to the cuffs, leaving Digs to have to drag his corpse through the desert. It was the ultimate revenge on a horrible criminal.
