I’m back with part 3 of my favorite horror movie sequels! These are some of the sequels in the horror genre that I love just as much as, if not more than, the first installments. I hope you enjoy and let me know some of your favorite horror movie sequels!
Day Of The Dead

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): As the world is overrun by zombies, a group of scientists and military personnel sheltering in an underground bunker in Florida must decide on how they should deal with the undead horde.
I have to say when it comes to George Romero’s original Dead trilogy, this is the one I love the most. I think the characters are the main reason I love this film so much. The protagonists are people you can really root for and the antagonists are perfectly despicable. The discussions in this film are very interesting and there is a certain element that makes it really stand out to me. This one will always be a go-to for me!
Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Angela Baker has undergone years of therapy, electro-shock, and sex-reassignment surgeries, and finally landed herself a job in the last place she should be working: Camp Rolling Hills. She has an old-fashioned approach to how camp should be, and an old familiar deadly way of making sure that those who don’t follow her rules don’t get to come back next summer.
I have to say what really won me over with this sequel was Pamela Springsteen. I just LOVED her performance as Angela. Her eerie peppiness really sold it for me. This one really upped the campiness and the humor. I really do like the first film, but this one quickly rose as my favorite in the franchise. I love the jokes, I love the death scenes, and I love how each character stood out, which can sometimes be difficult with a large cast.
I Spit On Your Grave 2
Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): When Katie innocently accepts an offer to have new photos taken for her portfolio, the experience quickly turns into a nightmare of rape, torture, and kidnapping. Now, she will have to find the strength to exact her brutal revenge.
The 2010 I Spit On Your Grave movie was plenty brutal, but this film really AMPED up the violence! I love a good revenge story and this one stuck with me for the longest time. This poor heroine suffered so much in so many ways, and she was greatly underestimated. This was a sequel done right when it came to the violence, the bloodshed, and the revenge. It was bloody, disgusting, and so so tragic.
ABCs Of Death 2

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Another 26-chapter anthology that showcases death in all its vicious wonder and brutal beauty.
I feel like filmmakers really hit their strides with this sequel. I’ll admit the first film felt more experimental and there are a few segments I end up skipping when I watch it. I don’t skip a single segment in this one! They are all so creative, unique, and captivating. There’s a great combination of comedy, tragedy, shocks, and mystery. I end up throwing this one on WAY more often than the original.
Annabelle Comes Home
Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): While babysitting the daughter of Ed and Lorraine Warren, a teenager and her friend unknowingly awaken an evil spirit trapped in a doll.
I’m honestly really glad I gave this film another chance because I don’t think I appreciated it for what it was when I first watched it. One element in the horror genre I just LOVE is when you have the big bad and with it, a bunch of little (but equally terrifying) bads. I loved hearing all the stories surrounding these other spirits. It’s like we get smaller recaps of some of the Warrens’ other cases. This film was very creepy, intriguing, and MUCH better than the first Annabelle film, in my opinion!
