I wanted to start a new series dedicated to my favorite actors and the roles that turned me into a fan! Today, I’m starting with Katharine Isabelle! Whenever I think about my favorite actors, she’s always the first one who comes to mind. She’s an icon in the horror community and she’ll always have a special place in my heart. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite Katharine Isabelle role! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
5. Ava Wilson – Supernatural

For the longest time, I forgot Katharine had a small part in Supernatural. When we first met Ava, she was just a regular girl whose path crossed with the Winchesters by a telepathic connection with the younger brother, Sam (Jared Padalecki). Her helpful and sweet nature quickly changed at the end of season 2 when she was placed in a Battle Royale-type showdown. Her character was short-lived, but she was able to manipulate and keep her good-girl persona intact until it was time for her to kill.
4. Tamara – See No Evil 2

Tamara is that one crazy friend who parties, obsesses over the macabre, kisses corpses, and has sex in a morgue. After Amy (Danielle Harris) couldn’t leave her job at the morgue to celebrate her birthday, her best friend, Tamara, brought their friend group and loved ones there to surprise her. Tamara differs from Katharine’s other horror roles because she’s just so charismatic and goofy. It’s pretty evident in her performance that she was just having a hell of a time with her role.
3. Gibb Smith – Freddy vs. Jason
Gibb may have been a minor character in this slasher, but this was the role that made me a fan of hers. She was the main protagonist’s alcoholic best friend whose boyfriend was the first to get killed. Soon after, this poor soul was taunted by Freddy (Robert Englund), who used her boyfriend’s controlling and verbally abusive tendencies to manipulate her. Her death was the very straw that broke the camel’s back and made Freddy and Jason (Ken Kirzinger) enemies instead of allies. Gibb was a very troubled but sympathetic character.
2. Ginger Fitzgerald – Ginger Snaps

Ginger was an outcast who’s obsessed with death. When she almost met her end at the hands of a werewolf, her priorities changed as popularity and looks seemed more important. As she slowly started to change into a werewolf herself, she became a bada** killer and monster! With her sassiness and resilience, It was like Katharine was born to play Ginger!
1. Mary Mason – American Mary

Mary Mason is my all-time favorite role of Katharine’s! I love a good revenge film, but American Mary was so much more than that. Katharine played a medical student who started to dabble in the world of body modification. After a traumatic night involving one of her mentors, she used her newfound interests to exact revenge. I really love Mary’s development in this film. Like a flick of a switch, she went from a young, starving student to a cold, vengeful, morbid artist. I can’t imagine anyone more perfect for this role!
