Whether you find yourself in the middle of a maniac’s killing spree, an apocalypse, or a hostage situation, it’s always good to have at least one friend who’ll have your back no matter what! This series is dedicated to the most loyal friends in the horror genre. I’m putting morality aside and focusing merely on how loyal they are to their friends, so you may see a villain or 2 in this series. I hope you enjoy and let me know which horror movie friends you’d want on your side! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Mick And Pnub – Idle Hands

When slacker, Anton’s (Devon Sawa) hand developed a mind of its own and demanded blood, it went on a killing spree, butchering everyone close to him. Among those victims were Anton’s two closest friends, Mick (Seth Green) and Pnub (Elden Henson). However, the dead duo denied heaven and emerged out of their graves, but not to exact revenge. They instead smoked weed, watched tv, and tried to help Anton with his hand problem. Even in death, they were slackers, but they were also there for Anton to help anyway they could. They even unintentionally came up with the solution for subduing the hand. When they got a second chance to go to heaven, they took it and became Anton’s guardian angels, giving him one last good scare, as best friends are meant to do.
Paxton – Hostel

I’ll admit, Paxton (Jay Hernandez), Josh (Derek Richardson), and Oli (Eythor GudJonsson) were certainly no saints. Right from the beginning, their priorities centered around weed and women. The promise of women was what initially lured this trio to Slovakia, where they met their nightmares. Paxton’s best friend Josh ended up brutally murdered by an older man they met on their way to Slovakia. After escaping from the factory where his friend was killed, Paxton ended up on the very train where – you guessed it – the older man was! Of course, Paxton couldn’t let his friend’s killer get away without paying. To avenge Josh’s death, Paxton cornered the old man in a bathroom and proceeded to cut off his fingers, dunk his head in a toilet, and slit his throat. Paxton spent the entire film being careful in his escape. At the end, he risked it all to avenge his best friend’s death.
Marcus – Hatchet

Marcus (Deon Richmond) was the friend that could make any situation hilarious. It was Mardi Gras and Ben (Joel David Moore) was mourning the death of his relationship. Instead of enjoying his trip, Ben decided to get away from it all and look for a boat tour to get his mind off of everything. Marcus was given the choice to either continue to party with the rest of their friends, or tag along with Ben. He chose to tag along with Ben, and regretted it every step of the way. When they found themselves trapped in the middle of Honey Island Swamp and hunted by Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), Marcus held his own and kept the comedy, taunting Crowley as a means of distraction. When Marcus found himself in a losing battle with Crowley, he told Ben to run and save himself and suffered one of the worst deaths in the entire franchise.
Abby – Let Me In

Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) was a bullied outcast who dreamt of revenge against his bullies. Abby (Chloe Grace Moretz) was a vampire who must travel from place to place and feed. Their paths crossed when Abby moved in next door to Owen and they almost immediately started to bond. Fast forward, many bodies pulled up and Abby decided that it was time to leave. When it seemed that she was gone for good, Owen’s bullies took things too far and tried to drown him. Then, Abby broke in, completely massacred the bullies, and saved Owen’s life. When they realized they couldn’t be apart, Owen decided to leave with her. This bond was much more than a simple friendship, but Abby has earned her place in this list because of what she did to protect Owen.
Rod – Get Out
Rod (Lil Rel Howery) is the kind of best friend everyone should have! Our main character, Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), realized there was something sinister going on when he visited his girlfriend, Rose’s (Allison Williams) family. After some concerning phone calls to Rod, Chris disappeared and it was up to Rod to figure out what’s going on. Of course, Rod didn’t actually figure out the secret, but he did come up with some pretty far-fetched and hilarious theories. Being mocked and ridiculed certainly didn’t stop him from looking for his best friend. Eventually, Chris escaped through the hell he was trapped in, killing his way to freedom. When a car with flashing lights pulled up, Chris thought it was over for him, but, who got out of the car? Mr. Rod “TS-Motherf***in-A” Williams! We’re not sure how, but he was able to track down the location of Rose’s family and rescue his best friend.
