My Ranking Of The Halloween Episodes In ‘The Office’

Welcome to Day 22!! Last year, I ranked all of the Halloween episodes in Modern Family. This year, I wanted to do it with another show, and I decided on the Halloween episodes of The Office! The Office had some epic Halloween celebrations and killer moments. I decided not to include the Koi Pond episode on this list because the only Halloween scene in it was cut. I hope you enjoy and let me know which Halloween episode was your favorite! (POSSIBLE SHOW SPOILERS!!!)

5. Here Comes Treble

To pump up the Halloween party, Andy invites a young a cappella group from Cornell to perform, but when the group favors his rival, he tries to salvage his holiday celebration. Meanwhile, Dwight finds a pill for anxiety on the floor and tries to track down the owner. Also, Pam finds out that Jim invested $10,000 in his start-up company and tensions rise between them. This episode is dead last for me because I was just so bored by it. I didn’t care for the whole a cappella storyline. I JUST rewatched the episode and I’m having trouble even coming up with something to say about it. I did think the Stephen Colbert cameo was great, and the opening scene was killer! Other than that, it was all pretty forgetful.

Favorite Moment: When Dwight put a pumpkin on his head, but couldn’t get it off.

Favorite Costume: Erin as a puppy.

4. Employee Transfer

After David Wallace found out about Michael and Holly’s relationship, he had Holly transferred and she and Michael tried to make their long distance relationship work. With the boss gone, Jim and Pam have lunch with Jim’s brothers, where they pull a prank at Pam’s expense. Finally, Dwight applies to Cornell to get under Andy’s skin. Aside from the beginning scene, this episode really wasn’t centered around the holiday, but it was one of the best openings in the whole show! Other than that, I don’t really care for it. I love the road trip storyline, it had hilarious moments. The Cornell storyline was a bit boring to me. The brothers storyline frustrates the hell out of me, but it was supposed to so I have to give it props for that. Overall, I wish the whole episode was more Halloween-based, but it was still a good episode.

Favorite Moment: When the elevator closed on Dwight as he tried to quote the Joker.

Favorite Costume: Creed as The Joker.

3. Spooked

Afraid that she’s going to get fired, Erin tries to throw the best Halloween party. Meanwhile, Jim and Pam argue about whether or not ghosts are real. Then, Robert California and his son visit the office where Robert starts collecting everyone’s fears. I’m not the biggest fan of Erin but I felt really sorry for her in this episode. She was so scared of getting fired, she tried to step out of her comfort zone and it backfired horribly for her. Dwight bonding with Robert’s son was one of the best parts, they had a great back and forth. Robert’s fake story was almost perfect for the holiday season, but I loved his final monologue about fears. I think it was a fun episode overall!

Favorite Moment: When Toby took all of Dwight’s weapons away from his previous costumes.

Favorite Costume: Erin as Wendy.

2. Halloween

As the office try to enjoy their Halloween party, Michael has to fire one person before the end of the day. Meanwhile, Jim and Pam send Dwight’s résumé to a company located out of state. This was The Office’s first Halloween episode and it was done so well. I feel like it was weird that Pam suddenly tried to convince Jim to take the out-of-state job. It seemed a little out of character and was added just to further complicate Jim and Pam’s “will they, won’t they” story. I absolutely love that we got many years of Creed’s craziness all because Michael didn’t want to call him back into his office. Of course, we got Michael’s inappropriate comments on people’s costumes, but it was pure Michael Scott. It was a great first Halloween episode filled with hilarity.

Favorite Moment: When Michael sent Dwight to try and fire Stanley and Stanley just laughed in his face.

Favorite Costume: Kevin as Mr. Incredible.

1. Costume Contest

Everyone is pumped this Halloween as Pam is hosting a costume contest with a coupon book as the prize. The opening is one of my favorites as the office tries to get Stanley to notice their crazy antics. The celebration is short lived for Michael as he found out that Darryl went above his head with a great idea he previously shot down. Jim and Pam have their own Halloween issues as they try to figure out why Pam’s ex ghosted her. I found the ex storyline really weird. Jim and Pam were happily married, I don’t know why they were so obsessive over everything. The only good thing that came out of it was when Jim gave Pam the Halloween she really wanted in the end. Michael was very frustrating in this episode, and I’m finally happy Kelly called him out on making the holidays about himself. This is the main episode that jumps to mind when I think about Halloween! It was great from start to finish and it’s my all-time favorite!

Favorite Moment: When Michael tried to call Darryl an a**hole with the Ouija board, but Darryl changed it to Asset.

Favorite Costume: Gabe as Lady Gaga.
