The Best Horror Movie Villainesses Of All Time – Part 6

For my second post in Women In Horror Month, I’m sharing part 6 of the best horror movie villainesses of all time! These women left their mark on the horror genre with their cunningness, seduction, and deviousness. I hope you enjoy and let me know which villainesses should be included in this series! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Angela Franklin – Night Of The Demons (1988)

All Angela (Amelia Kinkade) wanted was to host the perfect Halloween party in an abandoned funeral parlor. She got her wish in the beginning as she as the party started off without a hitch. After a past-life séance awakened evil forces to crash the party, Angela and her friend, Suzanne (Linnea Quigley) were the first to be possessed. As the rest of the party were killed or possessed, Angela led them to track down and haunt the two survivors. She was a hell of a host and she wore demonic possession really well!

Nancy Loomis/Debbie Salt – Scream 2

After finding out her husband was having an affair with Maureen Prescott (Lynn McRee), Nancy Loomis (Laurie Metcalf) left him and their son, Billy (Skeet Ulrich). Billy couldn’t handle the abandonment, and he took revenge on Maureen and killed his friends in the process. Billy’s plan was foiled when Maureen’s daughter, Sidney (Neve Campbell) killed him in self defense. Thirsty for revenge, Nancy donned a whole new identity, made friends with Sidney’s college classmate who also had bloodlust, and went to work. She was one of the smartest villains in the franchise. She had a makeover to make herself unrecognizable (even though Sidney recognized her immediately), made sure she left no trail, and even killed her partner. She underestimated our heroes, but she was definitely underestimated herself.

Rachael Newman – American Psycho II: All American Girl

Rachael Newman (Mila Kunis) was a very driven soul. After witnessing her babysitter get killed and murdering her killer, Patrick Bateman, all she wanted to do was join the FBI and track down more psychopaths. Being her professor’s assistant would almost guarantee a spot at Quantico. With other contenders for the job, Rachael fed into her own homicidal instincts and took out her competition one by one. After things didn’t go her way, she took her anger and her delusions out on her professor. She was so driven that Rachael Newman wasn’t even her real identity. She murdered the real Rachael and took her place at the university. After killing everyone in her path and being pursued by the police, she faked her own death and assumed the identity of the professor’s previous assistant who was already accepted at Quantico. She knew exactly what she wanted and she stopped at nothing to get it. She was a very cunning and calculated psychopath.

Edith Brennan/Mama – Mama

Edith Brennan (Javier Botet) was a mentally ill woman who was sent to St. Gertrude’s Asylum. After her baby was taken away from her, she snapped, escaped the asylum, killed a nun, and took her baby back. While she was being pursued by the local authorities, she reached a cliff and she decided she just couldn’t be without her baby. In a tragic “conclusion,” Edith jumped off the cliff with her baby. During the fall, she lost her baby and died in the water below. For centuries, she searched for her baby, but she failed. When a manic father took his daughters to an abandoned cabin and tried to kill them, Edith’s rage took over and she snapped his neck and raised the little girls herself for five years. When their uncle finally found them and brought them to their new home, Edith definitely didn’t like that. Edith was possessive, angry, and terrifying to anyone unfortunate enough to cross her path.

Lily – Siren

Lily (Hannah Fierman) was a demon summoned by amateurs and captured by Mr. Nyx (Justin Welborn), a seedy nightclub owner who made her his star attraction. After being rescued by a man celebrating his bachelor party, Jonah (Chase Williamson), Lily set her sights on him and when he realized she wasn’t human, he tried everything he could to escape her and Mr. Nyx. Using her mesmerizing voice, Lily lured all men who stood in her way and tore them apart. She was almost captured again, but Jonah decided to set her free for a second time. He came to regret this later as she made it clear that she was never going to let him go. She was brutal, territorial, alluring, and once she has her hooks into you, it’s over!
