The Absolute Worst Horror Movie Friends – Part 3

I’m back with part 3 of the worst friends in the entire horror genre! These characters don’t even deserve to be called friends. Through their actions and words, they’ve destroyed lives and even set off chains of events that caused chaos and slaughter. I hope you enjoy and let me know which horror movie friends you feel should be in this series! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Billy The Bully – Scream

Billy (Skeet Ulrich) was just a horrible person to everyone. After learning about his father’s affair, he decided to murder his friends and tried to kill his girlfriend. One thing that really made me mad about him was how poorly he treated his partner-in-crime, Stu (Matthew Lillard). He found someone who not only kept his murderous plans a secret, but also joined him in his bloody crusade. In the third Scream film, we find out Billy only brought Stu in so he could throw him under the bus if they ever got caught. On top of that, Billy constantly insulted him, hit him, stabbed him way too many times, and then got mad at him when Stu got one good shot in his gut. Considering he needed Stu for all of this to work, you’d think he would’ve treated him like a partner and not a workhorse.

Marie The Maniac – High Tension

Marie (Cécile de France) and her best friend Alex (Maïwenn) were looking for a quiet place to study, so they traveled to Alex’s parents’ secluded farmhouse. While Alex believed she was going to be spending a relaxing weekend with her family, she had no idea that Marie was so obsessed with her, that she was about to ruin her life. Marie brutally and mercilessly murdered her entire family, then tied her up and threw her in the back of her car. True, she had an internal struggle where she truly believed that a psychopath killed the family and kidnapped her best friend. She thought she was Alex’s savior, but she was her destroyer the entire time.

Jessica The Jacka** – Sorority Row

Jessica (Leah Pipes) took the typical movie b***h trope and turned it up to ten. First off, I’m not sure how far she wanted her little prank to go, but she had the chance to stop it long before it ended up killing one of her sorority sisters, Megan (Audrina Partridge). After Megan died, she manipulated everyone to help her cover it up. It’s very obvious she only had her own future in mind, but she used everyone else’s issues against them. She even convinced them to frame a fellow sister, Cassidy (Briana Evigan), if she didn’t comply. Now that all the guilty parties were being hunted down and killed, Jessica still couldn’t let up on her selfishness and insults. Jessica, there was someone out there threatening to kill you and expose you. Would it have been so difficult to stow away your personality for a while?

Trent The Tool – Friday The 13th (2009)

If Jessica from Sorority Row took the “movie b***h” trope and turned it up to ten, then this guy took the “movie douchebag” trope and turned it up to 100! He brought all of his friends to his cabin just so he can show off all of the neat things he had. Then he’d get mad every time they were just having fun. If you want to party with your friends, don’t take them to a place you’d be afraid they’d destroy! The way he treated Jenna (Danielle Panabaker) angered me the most. He tried to sleep with her, slept with someone else when she rejected him, then he got mad at HER when she left to help a man, Clay (Jared Padalecki), look for his sister. He accused her of sleeping with Clay (which even if she did, it was none of Trent’s business), then tried to throw her out when brutal killer, Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) was right outside of the house! He couldn’t let up his douchebaggery for two seconds to try and understand the situation, and that’s why I rejoice every time I watch Jason kill him.

Jemma The Jokester – Host

What could’ve been a spooky but fun evening turned into a real nightmare, all thanks to Jemma (Jemma Moore). While preparing for a Zoom séance, Haley (Haley Bishop) made it very clear to all of the friends involved that this was a serious matter and that it was imperative to not joke around. Jemma heard Haley’s pleas as, “don’t respect my wishes, make up a dead childhood friend and act like he’s there with you!” Her little act brought some truly horrific consequences, and it all could’ve been avoided!
