The Best Horror Movie Villainesses Of All Time – Part 8

Welcome to Day 22 of Spooky Season!! It wouldn’t be Spooky Season if I didn’t talk about some of the best horror movie villainesses! These women have had their own tragedies and they took their troubles out on those around them, spreading carnage and melancholy everywhere they went. I hope you enjoy and let me know which Villainesses deserve to be in this series! (MAJOR SPOILERS!!!)

Baby Jane Hudson – What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?

Baby Jane Hudson (Bette Davis) was the product of stardom, favoritism, and the spotlight. As a little girl, she was a performer beloved by all. As she grew up, the power dynamic shifted and her sister, Blanche (Joan Crawford) started shining in the movie industry as she faded in the shadows. After a tragic crash led to Blanche being paralyzed, it was up to Jane to take care of her. As Blanche’s films started to get rerun, and after learning she was planning to sell their house and send Jane away, Jane’s sanity started to spiral. While torturing her sister and keeping her hostage, Jane forged her signatures for money, imitated her sister’s voice to manipulate those outside of the house, and planned to get her once adored act back on the road, just like the good old days. She was sadistic and cunning, yet delusional and very tragic.

Margaret White – Carrie (1976)

I’m honestly very surprised with myself for not putting Margaret in this series sooner! Margaret White (Piper Laurie) was a deranged and deeply religious woman who took out all of her frustrations on her poor daughter, Carrie (Sissy Spacek). You’d think after her husband left her, she’d actually be nice to the one person who’s still with her, but nope! When Carrie revealed her telekinetic abilities to her mother, Margaret realized she wasn’t able to control and abuse her anymore. When Carrie massacred her classmates after a cruel prom prank, she ran home to Margaret, hoping she’d help her. Instead, Margaret told her she should’ve killed her as a baby, and then tried to stab her to death, believing she was doing God’s work. Margaret was a disturbed soul who was FAR from the mother that Carrie needed. She was the mother of malevolence.

Constance Nebbercracker – Monster House

Constance (Kathleen Turner) was an overweight woman who was forced to perform in a circus sideshow, where she was laughed at and ridiculed. Her nightmare was over when the love of her life, Horace (Steve Buscemi) helped her escape the circus and gave her a new life. After they got married, he surprised her with a plot of land and they started building their dream house. While the house was under construction, a couple of kids harassed Constance and threw eggs at her. This brought her back to how she was treated at the circus, and she just lost it. When she tried to attack the kids, she lost her footing and fell and died in the basement of the house. After the house was completed, her spirit became infused with it and she became a vengeful monster house. Horace had to spend years keeping everyone away from his house because Constance wanted to cause everyone the same pain she felt all those years.

Rebecca Evans – The Roommate

Sara Matthews (Minka Kelly) was ready for her new adventure at UCLA. She was so excited about her independence, her new classes, and especially her new roommate. When she met Rebecca (Leighton Meester), her new roommate, things started off normal. Rebecca seemed like a good friend at first, but it didn’t take long for things to unravel and Rebecca to sink her hooks into Sara. She attacked one of Sara’s friend for “not being a good influence” for Sara, she killed Sara’s kitten so she wouldn’t move out of the dorm, she beat herself up so Sara would spend Thanksgiving with her, she got the same tattoo that Sara had to be closer to her, and to top it all off, she killed Sara’s ex-boyfriend. That’s not even all of the horrid things she’s done. Everything she did, she genuinely thought she was doing for the good of their friendship. She did get a pervert professor fired, but that was the only good thing she did. She was still obsessive, possessive, manipulative, and purely psychotic.

Abigail – Abigail

Abigail (Alisha Weir) was cursed to spend eternity in the body of a child after being bitten and turned into a vampire. As she grew more powerful, she used her innocent demeanor to her advantage, being her father’s most deadly assassin. Over the years, she started to feel neglected by her father and she felt that she’d get his attention again by slaying his worst enemies. She staged her own kidnapping, making a group of criminals believe they’d be in for a hefty ransom. There, they became trapped and part of her sick little game. She was truly a master of manipulation. Without breaking a sweat (but quite a few necks), she was able to get the criminals to turn on each other. When the cat was out of the bag, Abigail was out to kill. She was even capable of controlling the minds of those she bit. She’ll terrorize you until your last breath, and she’ll have fun every ballet step of the way!
