Welcome to Day 26 of Spooky Season!! Today, I’m ranking the segments in Episode VII of The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror! It’s been a really long time since I did an installment in this series, so I thought it was the perfect time to start it up again. In this article, we have political aliens, tiny tub worlds, and evil twins. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite Episode VII segment! (SPOILER ALERT!!)
3. Citizen Kang

Space aliens kidnap President Bill Clinton (Phil Hartman) and his running opponent, Bob Dole (Harry Shearer) and take their place in the upcoming election. Since Homer (Dan Castellaneta) is the only one who knows that they’re aliens in disguise, it’s up to him to stop them from taking over the world. It’s no surprise that this one is dead last for me. I just hate political stories (which I know is ironic considering I’m a big horror fan). Kang and Kodos were undoubtedly the best part! The way that they won over the voters with the most random speeches is hilarious. This segment was just never really a favorite of mine, and I feel like skipping it every time.
Favorite Moment: When Bill Clinton and Bob Dole agreed to unite for the good of the country, just for Homer to accidentally kill them seconds later.
2. The Genesis Tub

After Lisa (Yeardley Smith) accidentally shocks her science fair project, a tooth sitting in a tub filled with soda, she finds that she actually created microscopic life in the tub. When they develop enough the technology to shrink her down to their size, she can no longer protect them against Bart (Nancy Cartwright). This one is a so-so segment for me and I think it’s mostly due to the fact that I’ve seen it so many times. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. I love the evolution of the tiny world, and the fact that instead of Bart wondering where Lisa’s disappeared to, he just steals the tiny world to win the school’s science fair. This is still an entertaining segment, but it’s not my all-time favorite in the episode.
Favorite Moment: When Bart kept saying, “Oops, my finger slipped” as he’s literally destroying the little world.
1. The Thing And I

After hearing strange noises in the attic, the Simpson children investigate and accidentally let a strange creature out. When they told their parents what happened, they learned that the creature is actually Bart’s evil conjoined twin brother that Marge (Julie Kavner) and Homer locked away for years, and he wants Bart back. This segment had epically funny moments that still get me to this day. I love this story and I felt so bad for Hugo, the “evil” twin! Plus, the randomness makes it feel like a genuine parody. This story has some truly unforgettable moments and a hell of a twist ending. It’s one segment that I’ll never be tired of!
Favorite Moment: When Homer asked Lisa and Bart if they knew what happened to nosy kids who asked too many questions, prompting them to ask even more questions.
