My Favorite B-Stories In ‘Family Guy’ – Part 1

I’m sure you know by now that I’m a huge fan of Family Guy, and I’m currently on another binge session on the show. A while back, I shared my favorite B-Stories in American Dad, so since I’m watching Family Guy at the moment, I decided to share some of the B-Stories that I love as much or more than the A-Stories from this show. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite Family Guy B-Stories! (SPOILER ALERT!!)

Revenge Of The Nerd’s Mother – And The Weiner Is…

After Meg joined the flag girl team, she believed she was finally in with the cool kids. At her first game, the cool kids pulled a nasty prank on her to humble her. Then Lois told her to just be nice to them, and when that seemed to work, Lois revealed her real plans for revenge. This is one of my favorite storylines because this was Lois at her best. She tried to help Meg with her bullies long before she became one of them. I hate that Meg allowed herself to be pranked a second time, but I love that Lois had a very messed up plan b with Quagmire.

Stewie & Olivia’s Rocky Relationship – Chick Cancer

After former rival, Olivia returned to Quahog to promote a new store opening, Stewie decided to pursue her and they began a new relationship. I honestly love seeing Stewie and Olivia. Their start in the performing arts school was just hilarious and I love that they went from enemies, to a couple, to enemies again. It was so great seeing them try to pull off a marriage and because it’s a short show, we get to see a quick romance to an even quicker downfall.

Lois’s Fantasy – Family Guy Lite

After Lois’s creative writing session, she left her fantasy story out for Brian to find. At first, he believed that he could use her deepest fantasies to seduce her. However, after following her around, Brian learned that the man she wrote about was a real person. Sometimes I genuinely forget Brian’s obsession with Lois until I come across episodes like this. I love how this episode points out his hypocrisy when he tried to use Lois’s fantasy to sleep with her, but when he thought she was having an affair with another person, suddenly he cared about how it would affect the family. He got a hell of a humbling in this episode and I’m all here for it!

Brian The… Cat? – Fecal Matters

After taking a DNA test, Brian found that he had a tiny bit of cat DNA in him. Brian then took this information and started acting like a typical cat. Brian is a very impressionable dog and this storyline is one of the biggest examples of it. The fact that not only did he act like a cat but Lois also treated him like one was just so funny to me! Then we have Quagmire, king of the cats, quickly proving to Brian that he’s nothing like a cat, which was pure comedy gold. I also love how some of Brian’s cat antics made their way into the episodes A-Story.

Stewie Woos Susie – Ocean’s Three And A Half

When Joe’s daughter, Susie was finally born, Stewie felt an immediate connection. In an attempt to woo her, Stewie tried to create the perfect song for her. This storyline has some of my favorite Brian and Stewie interactions. I loved seeing Stewie’s creative process and Brian just shooting him down in every scene killed me! My favorite part about this story was definitely Stewie’s final video, it was so random and I just LOVE the song! Then Stewie just lost interest in her right after, which is just classic for this show.
