One of my biggest problems is that I’m pretty addicted to iPhone games. I can spend hours ignoring everything and playing on my phone. As I was browsing the app store, I figured out a great way to put my procrastination to some use. So, for Day 5, I decided to download almost every free Halloween/Horror game I came across and I’m going to rate them for you! I hope these ratings will be helpful to those who like games as much as I do! Also, if you’ve played any of these, let me know your thoughts on them! 

Creepypasta

Thoughts: I know this technically isn’t a game, but I’m a sucker for creepy stories. This app was pretty decent. I really like the micro-pasta stories. The only thing I don’t understand is why they’re charging people for stories that they admit could be found for free somewhere else. If you’re going to charge for extra things, why not offer stories or poems that CAN’T be found anywhere else? Overall, the ones that were available were pretty fun to read! 

Wardwell House

Thoughts: This is the first simulation I’ve ever tried and it was fantastic! I was originally going to try it for about 20 minutes, but I was so hooked, I couldn’t put my phone down. The visuals were stunning, the settings were beautiful, and the atmosphere was eerie. The mystery of the Wardwell house was very interesting. I’d say this app is definitely my favorite so far! 

Escape Game: Spooky

Thoughts: I love a good escape game and this one was really well done. It wasn’t too easy and it wasn’t too difficult. I thought it was very weird that it had Christmas music playing in the background, but you know what? It works! Overall, I’d say I definitely recommend this one for escape game fans! 

Addams Family: Mystery Mansion

Thoughts: I’ve never really been big on house building games, but I just love the Addams family, and I love working on their mansion. I’m only docking a point because it’s one of those games that make you wait to earn anything, which is pretty annoying, but I guess it keeps you from spending hours playing. I’d definitely be playing this game for hours. 

Boo! (Halloween Puzzle Game)

Thoughts: This one was really fun! It’s a simple pumpkin dipping game but it was hard to stop. It was an interesting challenge that definitely wasn’t too easy. I highly recommend it for those who love dipping games! 

Ice Cream: Horror Adventure

Thoughts: This is definitely not my kind of game. I will say the graphics are great! The story is interesting, but my gameplay was horrible. The controls were frustrating and it was hard to maneuver… most likely because I’ve never played this kind of game before, so how much can I really chastise it?

Thoughts: I was over this one VERY quickly. For starters, an ad literally popped up every 5 seconds. Then, in order to advance to the next level, I had to watch more ads – which the game didn’t even let me do. I’d recommend you just skip this one. 

Pet Peaves Monsters

Thoughts: This was a cute game! You get to raise an adorable little monster. I was also very impressed with the graphics in this one! The only reason I’m not rating it higher is because there’s not much to do with the monster except feed it and make it fight. Even the fighting isn’t really clear. I have no idea how to help my monster win.
