I’m back with another installment of rating horror movie characters who share the same name! Today, I chose the name Alex and its variants (Alexandra, Alexandria, etc.). Reminder: I’m rating the characters themselves, NOT the actors who play them or their performances. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite horror movie Alex! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Alex Price – An American Werewolf In London
My Rating: 8.5/10
Alex Price (Jenny Agutter) was a nurse at St. Martin’s Hospital in London. When an American tourist, David Kessler (David Naughton) was brought in after a vicious animal attack, he and Alex had immediate chemistry. What Alex didn’t realize was that the animal that attacked him and that he was now a werewolf himself. Alex was a very sweet and caring person! I docked a little from her score because she had absolutely terrible intuition. She lets a strange man live with her, and leaves him at her place while she goes to work. Even after he admitted to her he’s been seeing his dead best friend and that he woke up naked at the zoo, she just acted like those were quirky attributes. Makes you wonder what kind of issues SHE had herself.
Alex Monday – Scary Movie 2

My Rating: 4/10
Alex (Tori Spelling) was a college student picked for a supposed sleep study at a strange house with her classmates. The reality is they were actually chosen to spark up paranormal activity in a dangerously haunted house. After a metaphysical night with the house’s poltergeist, Alex developed severely hard feelings for him. When Alex gets obsessed, she gets CRAZY obsessed. The deleted scenes showed the extent of her insanity. She also had very “pick-me” energy when her classmate, Cindy (Anna Faris) said that the malevolent spirit wanted her. She does get a few points from me for being able scare off a would-be rapist and terrify an already terrifying creature. Other than that, the girl needed a LOT of therapy.
Alex – High Tension

My Rating: 10/10
Alex (Maïwenn) and Marie (Cécile de France) were best friends heading to Alex’s family farm for a peaceful study session. However, Marie’s obsession with Alex led to her murdering Alex’s family and kidnapping her so she could “rescue” her. I feel so sorry for this girl! She lost her family and was shoved into the back of a truck, not sure if she was going to die too. But she really held her own! When Marie “rescued” her, she grabbed the knife she was given and stabbed Marie with it. She almost escaped, but the car that picked her up was just too slow. She was lucky that Marie let he guard down long enough for her to stab her again. She was really put through the wringer, and she still prevailed!
Alex – The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

My Rating: 2/10
Alex (Cyia Batten) and her boyfriend, Holden (Lee Tergesen) were part of a motorcycle gang traveling through the country. While biking through Texas, they terrorized an innocent group just driving through. When they all ended up at the same shop, Alex set her sights on them, but Holden told her to leave them be. She didn’t listen as she grabbed her bike and her gun and followed them down an empty road. Because of her, the group crashed their car and ended up falling victim to a nearby cannibalistic family. She really didn’t give a s**t that she almost got them killed, she was just a greedy b***h who felt she was owed something.
Alex Ivers – The Uninvited

My Rating: 4/10
Alex Ivers (Arielle Kebbel) and her sister, Anna (Emily Browning) had different ways of coping with their mother’s sickness. When Anna caught her dad sleeping with their mother’s nurse, Rachel (Elizabeth Banks), she tried to burn them alive in their house. Instead, she ended up killing Alex and their mother. The Alex we see represented Anna’s evil thoughts. She was the one convincing Anna that Rachel started the fire that killed their mother. She was the one who said Rachel was going to kill them too to have their father to herself. She was even the one who killed Rachel for Anna. It’s like Anna framed her own sister in her mind cause she couldn’t cope with having those thoughts and actions herself. She does get a few points for at least being entertaining.
