My Favorite Horror Movie Moments – Part 5

I’m back with part 5 of my favorite horror movie moments! For one reason or another, these are some of the moments in my favorite horror movies that stuck with me the most. I hope you enjoy and let me know some of your favorite horror movie moments! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

The Flashback – House

After finding out her father was bringing his new fiance on their family trip, Gorgeous (Kimiko Ikegami) decided she would much rather spend summer vacation with her best friends. She wrote to her estranged aunt, Karei (Yōko Minamida) and asked if they could visit her at her place. Karei was very excited and wrote back saying they were more than welcome. On the train ride there, Gorgeous told them all about Karei and her lost love. What was so great about that scene was the fact that the girls all saw the flashback just like we do. Their little commentaries about what we were seeing was so hilarious. I just LOVE a good fourth-wall break!

The Next Chapter – Mother’s Day

As college best friends, Trina (Tiana Pierce), Abbey (Nancy Hendrickson), and Jackie (Deborah Luce) end their senior year, they reminisced the last 4 years by looking at a slideshow. This scene immediately made me fall in love with the protagonists. The pictures were not only hilarious, but their commentary on each picture is what really sent me. These actresses had such good chemistry, I would’ve totally believed it if they were best friends in real life. It’s crazy going from the messed up first scene of the film to these girls just having a ball looking back on their time together. I knew from this scene alone that I was going to be a fan of this film.

No More Daydreams – A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox) was a timid girl who had trouble standing up for herself. She resorted to daydreaming about telling off her alcoholic father and making a move on her crush. She became targeted by a dream demon, Freddy (Robert Englund), and he used her dreams to kill those closest to her. Once Freddy killed Alice’s brother, Rick (Andras Jones), she just couldn’t take it. At his funeral, she imagined he popped out of the coffin, not a scratch on him. He told her he pretended to be dead to trick Freddy. This was when Alice realized she had to stop daydreaming and actually take action. It was such a touching moment and one of my favorite goodbyes in the genre.

Eyes For Only You – Serial Mom

Misty Sutphin (Ricki Lake) had a difficult time finding love. The man she was interested in, Carl (Lonnie Horsey) strung her along and made her believe he’d be interested in her if she lost enough weight. After her mom was accused of being a serial killer, their family became all the rage in media. However, one reporter, Howell (Jeff Mandon) seemed to be more interested in Misty than her mother’s story. Every chance he got, he took pictures of her and only her. Their connection was instant, and I thought it was really sweet that she found someone who actually wanted to be with her and who would never try to change her.

Barb’s Little Secret – Curse Of Chucky

After their mother met her end in a devastating way, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) and her sister, Barb (Danielle Bisutti) reunited to discuss the future. Barb brought her husband, Ian (Brennan Elliott), their little girl, and the family nanny, Jill (Maitland McConnell) to help and mourn together. Throughout the day, Ian and Jill seemed to have a connection that certainly didn’t go unnoticed by Barb. While Ian was off watching old home videos, Jill went to help find a “lost” doll. In the kitchen, Jill ran into Barb and it seemed like Barb was going to confront her about Ian. HOWEVER, it’s revealed that they are actually the ones having the affair once they started making out! This is one of my favorite twists, I never saw it coming!
