The Best Horror Movie Villainesses Of All Time – Part 10

We’ve now reached Day 7 of Spooky Season!! How was your first week of October 2026? I started this series in my first Spooky Season back in 2019. I’ve finally reached my 10th installment dedicated to some of the best villainesses in the horror genre! Whether through power, power tools, manipulation, or insanity, these women were the best at being the absolute worst. I hope you enjoy and let me know who is your favorite horror movie villainess!! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Amanda Young – Saw Franchise

After being wrongly convicted and developing a drug addiction, Amanda Young (Shawnee Smith) became the target of a madman, John Kramer (Tobin Bell), who felt people didn’t appreciate their lives enough. After she survived his twisted game, John took her under his wing and began to teach her all about putting people through tests to make them have a new appreciation for life. John was definitely a bad person, but this girl was seriously warped. She had sympathy for her fellow addicts, but everyone else… they didn’t deserve to live in her book. Her “test subjects” were actually her victims as she made her games impossible to win. She believed she would carry on John’s work after he died, but she clearly didn’t even understand his work. She just wanted to kill people for the sake of killing people. It seems she took a real liking to it ever since she was forced to kill her drug dealer to get out of her trap.

Agnes Lenz – Black Christmas

Agnes Lenz (Dean Friss) was born to a pair of loving, seemingly perfect parents. Unfortunately, they harbored a dark secret in their attic… her brother/father, Billy (Robert Mann). Billy spent years locked in the attic after witnessing his father brutally murdered at the hands of his mother and stepfather. The first time she met him, he attacked her and pulled out her eye. Then he killed her parents and ate her mother. She was placed in an orphanage, but she aged out. After learning the truth about Billy, she became extremely loyal to him and their house. Years after he was locked away, their house was turned into a sorority house, and Agnes was very displeased, so she took matters into her own hands. Waiting for her dad to return home for Christmas, Agnes viciously and sadistically murdered almost everyone she found in “their” house. She was pulled into a situation she didn’t understand and it scarred and changed her for life.

Axelle – Hostel: Part II

Axelle (Vera Jordanova) was a perfect hunter. She worked for a sadistic organization in Slovakia where they charged wealthy maniacs to torture and kill tourists. Like many women in the organization, Axelle’s job was to lure the victims to Slovakia with the promise of an unforgettable vacation. Her latest victims were a group of art students who she lured with the promise of amazing Slovakian spas. She was incredibly deceitful and manipulative. She was able to completely stalk the group and still have them trust her enough to completely reroute their trip. She always had the innocent and protective act down to a T, until she could drop the mask and get her pay.

Mrs. Carmody – The Mist

Mrs. Carmody (Marcia Gay Harden) was a very religious woman who resided in a small town. After the town became engulfed in a thick mist that had vicious monsters in it, Mrs. Carmody and a group of grocery market shoppers and employees became trapped in the store. She believed the mist was a result of God’s wrath, and when she correctly predicted the monsters’ next attack, some people started to believe that she was a prophet, protected by God. As fear grew in the store, more and more people went to her for answers and guidance, until there was only a small group of rational thinkers left. It got so bad, her followers started killing people at her command. She then believed that if they sacrificed a little boy, God would finally spare them. Luckily, it didn’t get that far, and one of the protagonists killed her, proving that she wasn’t protected after all. Mrs. Carmody was a perfect example of what could happen if enough scared people give the wrong person so much power.

Delores – Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Delores (Monica Bellucci) was a beautiful woman who was part of a powerful, soul consuming cult. In order to achieve immortality, she had to take someone’s life and their soul. She believed she found the perfect victim when she came across a grave robber named Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton). They got married and after consummating the marriage, she poisoned him. Before he died, he paid her back by chopping her up with an axe. Delores didn’t get the immortality she wanted, but she became a VERY powerful spirit in the afterlife. She gained the ability to suck the souls out of anyone, creating death for the dead. After waking back up in the afterlife and putting herself back together, she was hellbent on reuniting with Betelgeuse, and killing anyone who stood in her way. She was a very powerful and vengeful spirit.
