The Best Horror Movie Villainesses Of All Time – Part 2

For Day 11 of Spooky Season, I’m bringing a new batch of my favorite horror movie villainesses! These five women are powerful, cunning, and willing to stop at nothing to get what they want – whether it’s vengeance, love, or carnage. There are plenty more parts I can add, so if you’d like more after Spooky Season, let me know! Also, if you’d like to check out part 1, you can click here!

(SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Mrs. Lovett – Sweeney Todd

Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter) wanted a successful business and a husband to live the good life with. When Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) comes back into town, she believes she can finally have it all. The only problem is Sweeney is still focused on avenging his wife. With her own needs in mind, Mrs. Lovett uses Sweeney’s hatred and drive to her advantage. She’s a liar, manipulator, and she’ll do whatever it takes to live the life she wants – including baking the townsfolk into her meat-pies.

Rose Armitage – Get Out

Rose Armitage (Allison Williams) is an expert at her craft. Her business in life is bodies. She seduces African-American men and women for the purpose of using them as vessels for rich, old, white folks. She’s so dedicated to her manipulation, she was able to fool her boyfriend, Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) for five months before bringing him to her parents. She’s able to feign emotions with no problem, and she’s great at keeping herself from catching feelings for her intended victims.

Jane Doe – The Autopsy of Jane Doe

Jane Doe (Olwen Catherine Kelly) is one of the most powerful witches in horror. She’s able to alter someone’s reality and make others feel the pain and torment she was forced to endure – all without lifting a finger or uttering a word. After being brutally tortured and (supposedly) killed, she’s cursed to a life where she can’t even move, and has to suffer through her own autopsy. Even so, that doesn’t stop her from taunting and traumatizing her victims before killing them.

Brenda Bates – Urban Legend

Brenda (Rebecca Gayheart) was a deranged soul with nothing but vengeance in her heart. She lost the love of her life in the hands of two high schoolers. While he was driving home, they decided to mess with him using the Gang High Beam Initiation urban legend, and their distraction caused him to crash his car. Brenda never emotionally recovered from it. She dedicated her life to exacting revenge on those responsible. As a part of her plot, she enrolls in the same college as one of the culprits, Natalie (Alicia Witt), and befriends her. From there, she uses urban legends to torment and kill Natalie’s friends and torture her with the guilt of what happened.

Samara Morgan – The Ring

All Anna (Shannon Cochran) and Richard Morgan (Brian Cox) wanted was to have a child. Unfortunately, they ended up adopting a little girl who was pure evil – and that’s not an exaggeration. Samara (Daveigh Chase) doesn’t understand what she is or why she loves to hurt people. She never sleeps, she can make images appear out nowhere, and she can drive you insane. Her powers only seemed to grow stronger after her death, as her curse spread and destroyed many lives. Not only does she not know how to stop her powers, she doesn’t WANT to stop – even after her mother killed her.
