I’m back with part 8 of my favorite horror movie final guys! These are some of the guys in the horror genre who used their intelligence and bravery to survive whatever enemy they were up against. I hope you enjoy and let me know some of your favorite horror movie final guys! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Mark Rumsfield – The ‘Burbs

Mark Rumsfield (Bruce Dern) was a military man with a hot temper and a thirst for confrontation. Settling in the middle of a cul-de-sac, Mark and his friends began to suspect that there was something sinister about their new neighbors, the Klopeks. Art (Rick Ducommun) was the neighbor with all the crazy theories and Ray (Tom Hanks) was the justifiable skeptic. To me, Mark is the one who’s all too ready for a mission, no matter what it is. He was so excited to spy on these new neighbors and dig up some dirt on them. He helped dig through their garbage, he climbed onto his roof and acted as a lookout while Art and Ray broke into their home. He was the one interrogating the Klopeks and when they messed up and exposed the skeletons in their trunk, Mark was just ready to tackle himself a bad guy. He’s definitely someone you’d want on your side when dealing with crazy neighbors.
Quentin Smith – A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)

Quentin Smith (Kyle Gallner) was a normal teenager whose world turned upside down as he started losing his friends and classmates in such gruesome ways. As his friends were all dying in their sleep, he and his crush, Nancy (Rooney Mara) learned that they all had another connection when they attended a preschool together years ago. A man named Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley) worked there, and he hurt Quentin, Nancy, and all of their other classmates. When they told their parents, the parents served their own brand of justice by burning him alive. Now an evil spirit, Freddy took his revenge on those kids by invading their dreams and slaughtering them. I gotta say, Quentin was certainly a fighter. Freddy cut him pretty severely, but he didn’t give up when Nancy was in danger. He was bleeding out and he was still able to help wake Nancy up and pull Freddy into the real world so they could kill him. Quentin was cut, stabbed, hit, and he STILL fought with everything and survived!
Brax Weaver – Fantasy Island

After being disowned by his parents, Brax Weaver’s (Jimmy O. Yang) only family was his brother, JD (Ryan Hansen). After JD suffered a devastating heartbreak, Brax not only believed he was responsible, but he felt like he was holding his brother back in general. When they were invited to Fantasy Island, they believed that they were going to have the time of their lives. Things started out better than they could ever dream, but the powers of the island had sinister intentions for them. Another guest on the island set up this trap for them for a sickening revenge plot. After JD was shot and killed, Brax learned that the island had the ability to resurrect the dead… for a price. Brax sacrificed his freedom and chose to stay and work on the island in exchange for JD’s life. JD got to leave the island and start his life over. That was amazingly selfless for Brax to do for his brother.
Carlos – Saw X

As the cancer inside him got worse, John Kramer (Tobin Bell) was told of an experimental medical procedure that was highly successful. Desperate, he traveled down to Mexico to meet Cecelia (Synnøve Macody Lund) and her team of medical experts. There, he also met and befriended a young boy named Carlos (Jorge Briseño). After John realized that Cecilia was nothing but a scammer who preyed on dying people, he felt she and her accomplices were perfect for his next game. After the accomplices were picked off one by one, Cecilia and her secret partner got the upper hand and put John in his own trap. Then they heard Carlos playing outside and they pulled him inside and forced him into the trap with John. This poor kid was just pulled into this giant mess and had no idea why this was happening. As blood was drowning the both of them, it didn’t take long for him to understand how the trap worked. He selflessly helped John as much as he could. He was very intelligent and very brave.
DeVante Rhodes – Borderline

DeVante Rhodes (Jimmie Fails) was a professional basketball player who was dating famous pop star, Sofia Minor (Samara Weaving). After learning that she was only dating him for publicity, DeVante was devastated and ended things with her. Before he could leave her house for good, a maniac who was obsessed with her, Paul (Ray Nicholson), made it to where no one could leave the property. Hellbent on marrying Sofia, Paul and his accomplices held her and a few others hostage to create the wedding of his dreams. DeVante was a real trooper. He really cared about Sofia and that caring pulled him deeper into Paul’s delusions. At one point, Paul saw DeVante as Sofia and DeVante was forced down the aisle in the wedding dress. He did everything he could to not set Paul off and the poor dude STILL got stabbed! Luckily, he survived, but DeVante definitely deserved better from everyone.
