Well, I finally got all caught up on one of my favorite shows, The Rookie! As usual, when I finish The Rookie, my Youtube Reels gives me nothing but videos and clips about the show. Taking that little stroll down memory lane made me think about the characters who used to be on the show, but haven’t been seen or mentioned in a LONG time. So, here are some of the characters I would like to see again, even for just one episode. I’m not including characters who are dead because it’s obvious we’ll never see them again. I hope you enjoy and let me know which characters you’d like to see again! (NOTE: It’s been a while since I watched the first few seasons of The Rookie, so if I have some of my information wrong, my apologies!) (MAJOR SPOILERS!!!)

Talia Bishop

Talia Bishop (Afton Williamson) was Nolan’s (Nathan Fillion) first training officer. She left (or was forced to leave) after choosing not to include her criminal foster brother in her paperwork. I don’t know what went on behind the scenes that led to Afton Williamson’s departure, but I was kind of bummed to see her go. Not only that, I find it weird that she was never mentioned again. They still talk about Jackson (Titus Makin Jr.) once in a while, but it’s like Talia was never there, never their good friend, never Nolan’s first mentor.

Percy West

Percy West (Michael Beach) was the head of Internal Affairs and the father of rookie Jackson West. I’m kind of irked that this character only appeared once after Jackson died. We never even got to see how he was doing after losing his son. It’s like he was just there for Jackson’s character development, then he was completely dropped after Titus Makin Jr. left the show. Nyla (Mekia Cox) was recently investigated by Internal Affairs, that would’ve been the PERFECT time to bring him back!

Pete Nolan

Pete Nolann (Pete Davidson) was John’s half-brother who he finally met after their dad passed away. Pete is always fun to see, and I’m honestly surprised he was in only 3 episodes. They slowly just cut his character out but kept his girlfriend (fiancé?) Chastity (Meg DeLacy) in the show. I just want to see John and Pete get into more dangerous situations together! I don’t even care how they do it, I just want to see Pete Davidson on the show again!

Ben McRee

Ben McRee (Currie Graham) was John’s wealthy friend who offered him a place to stay when he first got to California. I’ll be honest, not only did I forget this character’s name, I forgot about him altogether. That’s a real shame because I really loved the guy when I first started the show. Then after John got his own place, his friendship with him kind of fizzled out. Ben wasn’t even at John and Bailey’s wedding! He showed up to offer John’s son, Henry a job and then just disappeared.

Henry Nolan

Speaking of John’s son, Henry (Zayne Emory), WHERE HAS THIS KID BEEN? I know that he’s off working for Ben, but ever since John got married again, other people in John’s life have sort of been taking a backseat. I just think it’s weird that we’ve been seeing more of Henry’s ex-fiancé, Abigail (Madeleine Coghlan) more than him in the later seasons. I’m genuinely curious how he feels about John working with Abigail on her latest documentary.
