A while back, I shared realizations that the characters in The Office had after watching the documentary. Since I started watching Modern Family again, I figured I’d do the same for this show. I know it was never really confirmed what the characters were filming for, but I figured since it has the same filming format, it’d still work here. In this hypothetical, everything we see is included in the documentary and nothing was cut out. Also in this hypothetical, everyone who appeared in the show watched the documentary when it was released (not including characters who passed away before the show ended, of course!). Claire (Julie Bowen) realized Phil (Ty Burrell) never bolted down the cabinet before the earthquake.

Dylan (Reid Ewing) realized Haley (Sarah Hyland) made out with her math tutor multiple times while they were still together.

Cam’s (Eric Stonestreet) neighbors realized he could hear them through his baby monitor.

Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria’s (Sofía Vergara) neighbor realized Gloria did in fact steal his dog and re-homed him.

Phil realized he did get the printer to work the first time, but Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) threw the picture away in fear.

Shorty (Chazz Palminteri) realized Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) was the one who told Jay that he was gay.

The Dunphys realized Dylan was trapped in their house while they were at the airport and he was the one who set off their alarm.

Mitch realized Jay did keep a photo of his and Claire’s figure skating days.

Claire realized Denise (Judy Greer) was indeed trying to hook up with Phil.

The family and Jungle Tanya (Margo Harshman) realized Haley was the one who let the scorpion out.
