I’m back with part 5 of my favorite horror movie sequels! These are some of the installments in my favorite horror movie franchises that I love so much. Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Tommy Jarvis (Thom Mathews) exhumes Jason Voorhees (C.J. Graham) to cremate his corpse, but inadvertently brings him back to life instead. The newly revived killer seeks revenge, and Tommy may be the only one who can stop him.

I’ve watched the first 4 and the last 4 Friday The 13th films so many times, I’m finally giving the middle 4 films the attention they deserve. This installment has quickly risen to one of my favorites in the franchise. I love the characters so much and I love the chemistry between Tommy and Megan (Jennifer Cooke). Their scenes together are some of the main reasons I like to throw this one on. I think it was a fantastic way to bring my favorite killer, Jason Voorhees, back to life and I’m glad they didn’t kill him for good. I love how bloody and humorous this sequel is!

A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) returns once again to terrorize the dreams of the remaining Dream Warriors, as well as those of a young woman who may be able to defeat him for good.

It took me a while to really appreciate how great this sequel is. For one, I absolutely love all of the characters, all for different reasons. I really care about them and I’m really rooting for them. Mostly, I love the new heroine, Alice (Lisa Wilcox), who was the daydreamer up against the dream master. The nightmares are so creative, and I love how the later installments made each one so unique. Plus, this has some of the best and most impressive practical effects. I’d probably say that this is the Elm Street sequel that I throw on the most, now!

Texas Chainsaw

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): A young woman travels to Texas to collect an inheritance. Little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-wielding killer is part of the reward.

It’s really a shame that so many wrong decisions and changes caused the downfall of this film. However, I can’t help but love this sequel. Flaws aside, I really love this story. I love how it got to the point where you’re not really sure who to root for because the main character has to deal with more than one threat. I love how it took the story of the Sawyer family on another route and we also got to see some of the O.G. Texas Chain Saw Massacre stars make small appearances, ending with the franchise where they got their start.

Terrifier 2

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Resurrected by a sinister entity, Art The Clown (David Howard Thornton) returns to Miles County to terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

This is honestly my favorite installment in the Terrifier franchise. I love it even more than the first one. It really raised the gore and the twistedness. It shows that there is more to Art’s story than him just being a psycho in a clown costume. The brutality of his sadism stuck with me for a long time after watching this. Plus, I just LOVE horror movies set on Halloween! There are not really many words I can use to describe this installment other than brutal, random, and uneasy.

Evil Dead Rise

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

I became pretty obsessed with this film when I first saw it on the big screen. I just love everything about it! The atmosphere was incredibly terrifying, and the characters were unforgettable. The visuals and the audio really pulled you into this eerie world. I love how they changed the setting to an apartment building, really adding to their trapped situation. It didn’t lose the gore or the scares, and it even kept some of the humor the franchise is best known for. I can throw this one on at any time!
