In the horror genre, absolutely no one is safe, not even kids. Today, I bring you part 2 of the most traumatized kids in horror films. These kids were put through some horrifying and terrifying experiences. Luckily, they survived, but the trauma they endured had undoubtedly changed them forever. I hope you enjoy and let me know who I need to add to this series!! (TRIGGER WARNING!!!)(SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Camp Kids – Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

After Crystal Lake was renamed Forest Green, everyone in the town was ready for a fresh start. Camp Forest Green was ready to finally open, and kids were excited! Unfortunately, the town’s infamous serial killer, Jason Voorhees (C.J. Graham) was accidentally resurrected and ready to terrorize the camp once again. These kids wanted an unforgettable camp experience, and tragically, that’s exactly what they got. Jason killed all of their counselors and every cop that stepped foot on the camp. Imagine being a kid as young as them and realizing this way that grown ups can’t protect you all the time. I wouldn’t blame a single one of them if they never wanted to go to camp again.
Tony DeHerrara & Marcia Holland – Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland

Tony (Mark Oliver) and Marcia (Tracy Griffith) were young kids from two completely different worlds. When Camp New Horizons opened up, the new owners had the plan to bring together two different classes in attempt to unite those divided by society. What none of them realized was one of the campers was actually a psychotic camper and counselor killer, Angela Baker (Pamela Springsteen). The campers were split into 3 groups, so while Tony and Marcia are having fun and connecting, Angela was slowly killing everyone else off, one by one. When it was just them and a couple of other kids left, Angela played a sick game with them where she killed the other kids right in front of Tony and Marcia. Then, she just left them, but Marcia untied herself and got back at Angela for everything. Tony had a hard life before all of this, but I doubt either of these kids would be the same after this.
Mari Collingwood – The Last House On The Left (2009)

Poor Mari (Sara Paxton) was put through so much. A year after losing her brother, she went on a vacation with her parents to their lake house. When she met up with her old friend, Paige (Martha MacIsaac), the two followed a timid boy back to his motel room for some weed. That boy turned out to be the son of a very dangerous man, Krug (Garret Dillahunt), and he and his accomplices took the girls hostage. Mari was forced to watch Paige get stabbed after they tried to escape. Then Krug raped her as her friend died right in front of her. Mari tried to swim away, but they shot her right in the middle of the lake and left her to bleed out. However, she fought her hardest and made her way back to her parents, just to find out Krug and his gang were also there. This poor girl was pulled into a terrifying situation that will stay with her the rest of her life.
Elias – Goodnight Mommy (2022)

Elias (Cameron Crovetti) and his twin brother, Lukas (Nicholas Crovetti) were inseparable their whole lives, until a horrible tragedy happened. While playing in the barn, Elias accidentally shot and killed Lukas. He couldn’t handle the guilt so badly, that he changed his whole reality. He completely blocked the accident out of his head and he believed Lukas was still with him and nothing happened. When “they” went to stay with their mother (Naomi Watts) for a while, Elias started to believe she was acting weird and aggressive towards him because she wasn’t really his mother. He was so delusional, he didn’t understand why she acted so cold towards him. When she tried to make him understand the truth, he couldn’t handle it and he accidentally killed her too. He lost everyone, and his mind protected him by making him see his mother and brother again, alive and safe. I just felt so bad for this kid.
Riley Abbott – Trap

I know it doesn’t seem like Riley (Ariel Donoghue) was that traumatized but what should’ve been the best day of her life would probably be the last day she’d experience anything good in her childhood. It was supposed to be a wonderful day where her dad took her to see her idol and favorite singer, Lady Raven (Saleka Shyamalan). Turns out the whole concert was a trap to catch her father, who was a vicious serial killer. When she believed she was randomly chosen to dance with Lady Raven on stage, she didn’t understand at the time that her father set that up so he could find a way to escape. Then she became a pawn in his and Lady Raven’s game when Lady Raven went to their house to try and free his latest victim. She went from being the envy of her ex-friends to being the girl whose dad killed a bunch of people, almost including her mom, and kidnapping one of the most famous pop-stars. I guarantee she’ll never be the same.
