It’s now day 25 of Spooky Season! Today, I’m doing something a little different. It’s almost time to celebrate Halloween, that means a lot of Halloween parties are coming up! I was originally going to do a list of some random horror themed drinks for inspiration. I ended up spending a good hour or so trying to find recipes that I wanted to add to the list. After a while, I finally came up with how to give this list a personal touch. I decided to find a themed drink for each film in my Top 10 Favorite Horror Movies list! Some of these choices are similar in title, theme, or they contain some element that reminds me of the film. Some of these may be a bit of a stretch, but it’s all in good fun.

1. IT (2017) – “Georgie”

Ingredients (serves 8):

1 1/2 cups 3 Howls spiced rum

1 cup orange juice

1 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup blackstrap rum

Garnish: shaved nutmeg, 8 red lollipops

2. Scream – “Coffee ’n Scream”

Ingredients:

1 cup milk

1 tablespoon sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

pinch of cinnamon

pinch of nutmeg

1/2 oz Kahlúa coffee liqueur

3. The Devil’s Rejects – “Devil’s Dark And Stormy Punch”

Ingredients:

2 cups dark rum

6 cups ginger beer

1/2 cup simple syrup

1/2 cup fresh lime juice

2 sliced limes

4. The Ring – “The Black Heart”

Ingredients:

1 ounce black vodka (Blavod)

1 ounce fig vodka (Figenza)

3 ounces Crème de Cassis

dash of dry vermouth

5. The Descent – “Bat’s Brew”

Ingredients:

2 cups Bacardi Superior

4 cups ginger ale

1/2 cup blue curacao

1 cup cranberry juice

splash of grenadine

6. The Last House On The Left (2009) – “Bloody Mari Shooters”

Ingredients (for the Bloody Mary mix):

3 stalks celery, cut into 2-inch pieces

6 cups tomato juice

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

3 tablespoons lightly packed grated peeled fresh horseradish

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon celery salt

1-2 teaspoons hot sauce (tabasco)

freshly ground pepper

7. I Spit On Your Grave (2010) – “Sparkling Cranberry Orange Eyeball Punch”

Ingredients:

2 (20 oz) cans peeled & pitted lychees in heavy syrup

1 pint fresh blueberries

1 (60 oz) bottle 100% cranberry juice, divided

1/2 cup Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar

4 cups orange juice

3 cups ginger ale

1 1/2 cup vodka

dry ice (optional)

8. Trick ‘R Treat – “Red Riding Hood”

Ingredients:

0.5 parts vodka

0.5 parts strawberry liqueur

0.5 parts Disaronno Amaretto

9. The Lost Boys – “Vampire Blood Cocktail”

Ingredients:

1 oz vodka

1 oz gin

1/2 oz cherry vodka

3 oz club soda

1 teaspoon grenadine
