I’m back with another installment of ranking the segments in The Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror! Today, I’m ranking the segments in Episode 8. It’s been a while since I’ve watched The Simpsons, so I felt it was time to give you another installment. Here, we have witches with a vengeance, nuclear chaos with mutants, and insect mutations. I hope you enjoy and let me know which segment in this episode was your favorite!! (POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!)

3. The Homega Man

While shopping for bomb shelters, Homer (Dan Castellaneta) ended up protected by one when France destroyed Springfield with a nuclear bomb. Now the (supposed) last man standing, he enjoyed being alone… which didn’t last long once he realized he was never actually alone. Honestly, I never really cared for this story, in any adaptation. It’s not a bad story, it’s just not one that keeps my attention. This was a decent parody, but compared to the other 2 segments, this one would probably be the most forgettable. It was pretty funny at the beginning, but then it loses me with the mutants.

Favorite Moment: When Homer imagined his family playing baseball and Marge (Julie Kavner) was the only one who missed the ball.

2. Easy-Bake Coven

During the Salem witch trials, Marge was proven to be a witch and she fled to her sisters for help. Together, the coven started stealing the town’s children to eat them. Knowing that the witch trials were a real thing, I can’t help but think that a parody of it is kind of… in bad taste. The whole accusation scene just wasn’t funny to me. I do love that the story turned into an origin story for the tradition of trick-or-treating at the end. It definitely was a more memorable segment compared to the first one.

Favorite Moment: When Homer egged his own house.

1. Fly vs. Fly

After Homer purchased a pair of teleportation pods, Bart (Nancy Cartwright) believed that if he stepped into it with a fly, it would turn him into a flying superhero. Instead, the pods switched Bart’s head with the fly’s and he had to try and find a way to switch them back. I love how this segment parodied the lesser appreciated original Fly film as opposed to the much more popular remake! I think it did a great job at taking a horrible situation and creating something hilarious with it. This one was so entertaining from beginning to end. This was a parody done right!

Favorite Moment: When BartFly tricked the spider, slapped him, and flew away.
