The King Of Queens: Worst Things Carrie Did – Part 1

I’m back with another installment of the worst things the characters in The King Of Queens did! It’s been a minute since I’ve done this because I forgot to transfer my list to my new laptop when I was grabbing all my lists, and I finally got around to it today. Today is all about the wrongdoings of Carrie Heffernan. I hope you enjoy and let me know which moments I should include in this series! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

All The Times She Was Abusive To Doug – Various Episodes

This one is at the top for me because, let’s face it, Carrie (Leah Remini) was a very abusive and scary person. Doug (Kevin James) has done some very stupid and selfish things and she almost always responded with violence or threat of violence. She’s hit him, punched him, twisted his nipples, and she even pushed him down the stairs once. When she wasn’t hurting him, she was threatening to hurt him or even kill him. When he was open with a support group for men in abusive relationships, she completely disregarded what she’s done and acted like it was no big deal, like a lot of abusers. She’s done this with people outside of their relationship as well, then she wondered why she didn’t have a lot of friends.

When She Pushed Dawn Too Far – Like Hell

After realizing that a majority of the office didn’t like her, Carrie made it her mission to win them over. She needed to do something eye-catching and she set her sights on her timid co-worker, Dawn (Laura Silverman). She gave her an amazing makeover and paraded her around the office. That was her ticket in, and she started winning over everyone. Then, when Dawn went back to her usual look, Carrie found that unacceptable. Dawn explained that she wasn’t comfortable dressing like that all the time. Then, Carrie insulted her and made her cry in front of everyone. Carrie already accomplished what she set out to do! Dawn going back to her old look wasn’t going to make people dislike her again, her pushing Dawn to tears did, though.

When She Blew Trish Off – Cheap Saks

After meeting and befriending one of Doug’s ex-girlfriends, Trish (Janeane Garofalo), she learned that Doug manipulated her, ghosted her, and played her voicemails to his buddies, mocking her. After spending some time with her, Carrie realized she couldn’t stand her, but she got a major discount at Saks where she worked, so she decided to play nice with her until the shop’s sale. She promised Doug that she would spend time with her after the sale and not do what he did to her all those years ago. She didn’t keep her promise and the SECOND her new clothes were purchased, she completely blew her off and ignored her calls. She repeated history, event for event. She used Trish, ghosted her, then played her voicemails aloud to others. She didn’t feel remorseful for a second about treating someone that way!

When She (And Doug) Pushed Arthur Onto Deacon And Kelly – Switch Sitters

One night, after babysitting Deacon (Victor Williams) and Kelly’s (Merrin Dungey) kids, Carrie jokingly suggested that they look after Arthur (Jerry Stiller) once in a while, and Deacon turned it down. Carrie didn’t think anything of it at the time, but Doug believed it wasn’t such a ridiculous request, and he convinced her to have their friends watch over her father. So, as Deacon and Kelly picked up their kids next time, Carrie and Doug just shoved Arthur onto them and made them take him to dinner with them, where he made a scene over spicy food. Instead of having a reasonable conversation with their friends, they just made them take Arthur out and not even offer to pay for him. There’s more that they’ve done in this episode, but I’ll save that for part 2.

When She Got Carmen Fired – Ice Cubed

During a terrible snow storm, Carrie went shopping for a few items, including an expensive iPod. As the cashier, Carmen (Yvonne Delarosa) was ringing her stuff up, she was talking on the phone with her friend about picking her daughters up from school. She was so distracted, the iPod didn’t scan and Carrie tried to tell her, but ultimately, she left the store with a free iPod. When her car skidded off the road, she walked to a church, where a discussion of the iPod made her return to the store to pay for it. As she was talking to the manager, she could’ve simply said she noticed the iPod wasn’t on her receipt. Instead, she admitted she knew it didn’t scan and when she was called out for shoplifting, she decided to throw Carmen under the bus by telling the manager she was on the phone. Carmen was just trying to find someone to pick up her daughters in a snowstorm and Carrie got her fired to save her own a**.
