One specific type of film I really enjoy is one centered around food and cooking. I was originally going to make this a series. However, I quickly realized I didn’t actually see a lot of cooking-centered films. So today, I’m doing a list of my top 3 favorites! I hope you enjoy and let me know which films centered around cooking I need to see!!
3. Cook-Off!

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): Amateur “chefs” from around the country compete for a million dollar prize in the ultimate food fight.
A funny thing about me is I’m not a big fan of documentaries, but I LOVE mockumentaries, and this is one of my favorites! I love how wacky all the characters are in their own ways. Each one has their own story and their own reason for competing. The food’s not appealing at all and that’s what makes it even better. This one is just so random and hilarious to me.
2. Chef

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) faces a career crisis, he hits the road to rediscover his passion for cooking.
This one is so great to me for so many reasons. I love how as the story goes, we not only know more about the characters, we even learn a bit about cooking. It’s educational as well as heartfelt. It’s a great dramedy that focuses on how to find yourself again and finding what’s most important in life. All the food looks delicious and this is one I can throw on any time!
1. The Menu

Synopsis (provided by IMDb.com): A young couple travels to a remote island to eat at an exclusive restaurant where the chef has prepared a lavish menu, with some shocking surprises.
This one will always be my go-to movie centered around cooking. I love how it centers around the elements of obsession, vengeance, and of course, cooking! As the madness ascends during each dish, we are given all the course ingredients, kind of like little “Act 1, Act II” breaks. It’s a film filled with good food and brutal realities!
