I’m back with rating horror movie characters that have the same name! I wasn’t sure which name to go with this time, so I had my decider app pick a random letter. It landed on J, so I went with the name Jack. (Yes, I know I have Jeff Goldblum on here twice, but 2 different movies, 2 different characters) As always, I’m rating the characters themselves, NOT the actors who played them or their performances. I hope you enjoy and let me know your favorite horror movie Jack!! (SPOILER ALERT!!!)
Jack Bellicec – Invasion Of The Body Snatchers

My Rating: 10/10
Jack Bellicec (Jeff Goldblum) was a struggling poet living in New York with his wife, Nancy (Veronica Cartwright). After strange flower pods started appearing all over the city, they learned that the pods were actually alien lifeforms looking to absorb human bodies and live as them. Jack’s a pretty good guy, I love the beef he has with David (Leonard Nimoy) the whole movie. He more than proved his selflessness when they were being pursued by the aliens and he lured them away from his friends so they could escape. He was a funny guy and a good friend, and I’m still really bummed that the aliens got to him.
Jack Burrell – Friday The 13th

My Rating: 10/10
Jack Burell (Kevin Bacon), his girlfriend, Marcie (Jeannine Taylor) and their friend, Ned (Mark Nelson) all headed to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake to reopen it and work as counselors. What they didn’t know was that a vengeful mother who used to work there and lost her son there was going to kill them all to prevent them from reopening the camp. I have no problems with Jack whatsoever. He was fun, he was helpful, and he didn’t hesitate to save Ned when he thought Ned was drowning. I think he was great with Marcie, I loved seeing them together. He was a great worker, and I’m sure he would’ve been a great counselor.
Jack Harrison – Transylvania 6-5000

My Rating: 8/10
Jack Harrison (Jeff Goldblum) and Gil Turner (Ed Begley Jr.) were tabloid journalists for a struggling paper. After receiving a tape of supposed proof of Frankenstein’s Monster, the two were sent to Transylvania to investigate. I do like Jack but it’s very clear he didn’t like his job, I don’t know why he didn’t just try to look for a new one. He seemed more preoccupied with wooing a single mother than looking into the town’s strange behavior. However, when he realized there was something to investigate, he really came through. He saved his friend, and he saved the people the town claimed to be monsters. He’s a smart guy who can actually get stuff done if he worked on it.
Jack Chambers – Don’t Worry Darling

My Rating: 0/10
After losing his job, Jack (Harry Styles) couldn’t handle his girlfriend, Alice (Florence Pugh) working all the time to keep them afloat. Wanting her to have more time for him, he kidnapped her and forced her into a simulation known as Victory Project, where the “wives” serve the “husbands” like its the 1950s. Jack is just pure scum. He couldn’t get a job so Alice didn’t have to work so much, but he could get a job to pay to keep her trapped in this world? All he wanted was to control her and keep her for himself and have her cater to him. Then, when Alice started to question everything, he acted like she was crazy to keep his secret. He destroyed her life and convinced himself he did it out of love.
Jack Delroy – Late Night With The Devil

My Rating: 2/10
Desperate for fame, late night talk show host, Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian) made a deal with a sacred cult. He basically sold himself for success and he STILL never got the highest ratings! Plus, he sacrificed his own wife (intentionally or not, I’m still not sure) to fulfill his dreams. It was all about ratings for him so he turned his show into exploitative trash TV just to keep his head above the water. The worst was when he meddled with a possessed girl on his show and ignored her handler’s warnings about pushing dark forces. He acted like a caring person but all he cared about was himself. He does get a couple of points because he is pretty entertaining.
