I know it’s been a while, but I’m back with part 2 of the worst things Doug did in The King Of Queens! Throughout 9 seasons, Doug Heffernan has done some horrible things to the people he loves because he just loves himself more. When He Completely Disregarded Carrie’s Depressed State – American Idle

After her latest job interview didn’t work out, Carrie (Leah Remini) decided to take some time and focus on herself and just take a break from the stresses of finding a job. Doug (Kevin James) really drove me nuts here. Common signs of depression include a lack of motivation and feeling tired more than usual. Carrie clearly showed these signs after losing her job and failing to find another. What does Doug do about it? Surprise, surprise, he makes it all about himself! She was at her lowest, and all Doug did was get onto her about not making him food or having sex with him. He refused to see how this major change really affected her and he just didn’t like that she didn’t have the energy to tend to him. Doug really showed his selfishness here.

When He Put Tim’s Life In Jeopardy – Entertainment Weakly

Frustrated that a new driver, Tim (Craig Gass) was getting laughs from the other drivers during lunch hour, Doug was desperate to up his game and get the spotlight back on him. When all of his attempts failed, he decided to try and get Tim fired by pretending to be dispatch and sending him out all the way to New Jersey. Tim didn’t get fired, however. He was pulled out of his truck and beaten severely, and he ended up in the hospital. Even if this wasn’t Doug’s intention, he still tried to get another driver fired just because people paid attention to him more. He messed with his co-worker’s life and livelihood all because he couldn’t handle not getting all the attention. He deserved a lot worse than just being put on the night shift as punishment.

When He Got Mad At Carrie For Liking An Impression – Do Rico

After Doug playfully started imitating the new guy, Rico (Angelo Pagán) he noticed just how much Carrie loved the accent. This was definitely one of the most ridiculous things Doug has ever been jealous of. He started doing an impression, then he got it in his mind that Carrie was more attracted to this accent than to him. She saw it as a fun role-playing thing that Doug initiated, and he yelled at her for enjoying it. She never met Rico, all she saw was her husband with an accent she found attractive, she literally did nothing wrong here. He invented a problem out of something he started in the first place. It was lucky Rico had a girlfriend Carrie could impersonate, otherwise Doug never would’ve let this go.

When He Pressured Spence To Make A Move Before He Was Ready – Fixer Upper

After seeing Spence (Patton Oswalt) alone in the movie theater, Carrie decided to fix him up with her co-worker, Jenny (Constance Zimmer). They got off to a rocky start, but then they really hit it off. After Spence and Jenny spent some time together, Doug and Richie (Larry Romano) got on Spence’s case for not having sex with her yet. Spence clearly wasn’t ready to take that next step yet, and Doug just couldn’t handle it. He pushed him into making a move and then gave him bad advice by telling him that they could have sex in his garage. This led to Spence bombing it hard with Jenny and calling her so many times, it pushed her away. Okay, the multiple calling wasn’t Doug’s fault, Spence really shouldn’t have done that. However, Doug meddled in something that wasn’t his business and almost completely ruined his relationship.

When He Made Deacon Feel Bad About Having Sex – Get Away

For a romantic getaway, Doug, Carrie, Deacon (Victor Williams), and Kelly (Merrin Dungey) traveled upstate to this quaint little bed & breakfast. There, Doug and Carrie realized just how often Deacon and Kelly had sex by listening to their love tape through the wall over and over again. This is just another example of how much Doug meddled into other people’s lives and ruined their happiness due to his own insecurities. Because he was a once-a-night kind of guy, he just couldn’t handle that his friend was having sex more often than him. Carrie was insecure about this, too, but she didn’t once tell Kelly that they should stop having sex. Then, when Deacon was kicked out of his room for turning Kelly down, Doug just gloated and walked away. Once again, he created problems for other people instead of having a simple conversation with his wife.
